Fountain CF inmate fatally stabbed

Alabama Department of Corrections officials confirmed Friday, March 27, that a Fountain Correctional Facility inmate from Monroe County has died as a result of being stabbed by another inmate in a recent altercation.
ADOC officials said Kenneth Locke, 27, who hails from the Franklin community, “unfortunately passed away on March 24, 2020 from injuries sustained during an inmate-on-inmate assault.”
Locke was serving a 14-year sentence after a Monroe County conviction for robbery.
“The ADOC condemns all violence in its facilities, and the fatal actions taken against Locke by another inmate are being thoroughly investigated,” a prison system spokesperson said.
Officials said Locke’s actual cause of death is pending a full autopsy, and more information will be available once the investigation into his death has been completed.
