Shady playground
Atmore Rotary Club, using a series of grants from several sources, recently installed a shade structure above the playground adjacent to the Atmore Community Splash Pad, just off Craig and Trammell streets. The 1,500-square-foot shade will allow children to use the playground equipment with less exposure to the sun and will prevent the equipment from becoming too hot to use. With a little help from their friends
Elaine and Kenny Rodgers had a busy couple of days last Friday and Saturday as they held fund-raisers to help with Kenny’s medical expenses. They sold Boston butts Friday and – with help from their friends – had a big event at the American Legion building with barbecue sandwich plates, live music, and a silent auction.
