3-county chase ends at I-65 exit in Atmore

A suspect, reportedly a Mobile woman, remained in the Baldwin County Jail late Monday (October 28) after earlier having led officers from several agencies on a high-speed chase that carried from Mobile County into Atmore before it ended.

The suspect, whose name had not been released at midnight Monday, was reportedly clocked at speeds in excess of 100 mph as his or her vehicle sped down Interstate 65, near Prichard. Police units from Saraland and Prichard gave chase, with sheriff’s units from Baldwin County and a state trooper all in pursuit of the speeding Jeep Cherokee.

The chase came to an end at Interstate 65’s Exit 57, near the Chevron convenience store. The Jeep’s driver was finally surrounded after he or she ran the vehicle, which had been reported stolen, into a Poarch Creek Indians police car that was on its way to join the chase.
