Patricia Ann Stoker Murph

Ms. Patricia Ann Stoker Murph, age 70, of Poarch, Ala., passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at her residence. She was born to the late Roy and Marie Gates Stoker. She worked in Home Health Care for many years where she sat with the elderly. She was an avid Alabama football fan and she loved her three fur babies.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, William Peter Sims and Gary Douglas Stoker.

Ms. Murph is survived by her children, Larry (Crystal) Jackson, Theresa Rutherford and Tracy Jackson, all of Poarch; twelve grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, September 20, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Sis. Helen Stewart officiating. Burial followed in McCullough Cemetery.

The family received friends Thursday, September 19, 2019 from 5 until 8 p.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Ernestine Daughtry

Mrs. Ernestine Daughtry, age 90, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at her home in Poarch, Ala. She was a native and lifelong resident of Poarch. She was devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a devoted aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was a retired housewife. She served on the Tribal Council for over seventeen years and was a member of the housing board for over ten years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, DC Daughtry; mother, Lena Jackson McGhee; father, Dan McGhee; sister, Inez Daughtry and brother, Howard Dan McGhee.

Mrs. Daughtry is survived by two daughters, Jackie Smith and Charlotte Meckel (Martin) both of Poarch; two sons, Jack Allen McGhee (Charlotte) of Pensacola, Fla. and Douglas Charles Daughtry of Poarch; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-eight great-grandchildren; four great-great- grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews; her care-giver of three years, Mrs. Lisa McMillian Grant.

Funeral services were held Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 11 a.m. at McCullough Christian Center with Father Mike Hill and Bro Fred Ray Ward officiating. Burial followed at Judson Cemetery.

The family received friends Friday, September 20, 2019 from 6 p.m. until service time Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the McCullough Christian Center.

Pallbearers were her grandsons: Ron Salter, Jr, Trenton Daughtry, Travis Daughtry, Troy Daughtry, Tristan Daughtry, Trevor Daughtry, Keelon Daughtry and Keaton Daughtry.

Honorary pallbearers were Robbie McGhee, Daniel McGhee, Charles O’Barr, Jonathan O’Barr, Jason Griffey, Gerry McGhee, Kendall Reed, Logan Smith and David Kirby.

Alan E. Rundall

Mr. Alan E. Rundall, age 77, of Lillian, Ala., passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2019
in Pensacola, Fla. He was a manager in Human Resources. He was born in Mesa, Ariz. to the late Marvin and Edna Grace Hunter Rundall. He was a graduate of University of Iowa, He served as Captain in the United States Marine Corps and a Helicopter Pilot during Vietnam. He was a member of Lillian United Methodist Church. He was an avid Alabama football fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Rundall is survived by his wife, Glenda Helton Rundall and daughter, Sharon Rundall,
both of Lillian; one sister, Ann Hileman of Denver, Colo.

Graveside services were held Sunday, September 22, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. in Oak Hill
Cemetery with Rev. Daniel Randall and Bro. Glenn Wardrop officiating. Interment followed in Oak Hill Cemetery.

The family received friends Sunday, September 22, 2019 from 1 to 2 p.m.at Johnson-Quimby

Freddie T. Amerson

Mrs. Freddie T. Amerson, age 88, of Cantonment, Fla., formally of Bratt, Fla., passed away Thursday, September 19, 2019 in Cantonment. She was born in White Springs, Fla. to the late Fred and Isabelle Roberts Tyre. She was a member of Pine Barren Baptist Church and donated a lot of her time visiting and ministering in local nursing homes. She worked at Vanity Fair; was a restaurant worker and was employed with Escambia County Florida School district as a school bus driver.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Martin Vanis Rosier and a brother, Raymond Cecil Tyre.

Mrs. Amerson is survived by her children Cliff Amerson of Bratt, Margaret (Sambo) Garrett of Bay Springs, Fla., Gwen (David) Johnson of Cantonment and Becky (Tim) Drone of Milton, Fla.; two sisters, Vivian (Gene) Vogan of Crescent City, Fla. and Delores Cowan of Buford, Ga.; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren and fifteen great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Monday, September 23, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. in Bratt-Godwin Cemetery with Bro. Mike Harper officiating. Interment will follow in Bratt-Godwin Cemetery, Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.

Marcus Dewayne Mitchell                                  

Mr. Marcus Dewayne Mitchell, age 63, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2019 at his home in Nokomis, Ala. He was a life-long resident of Walnut Hill, Fla. He was a loving father, brother, and grandfather and never met a stranger. He was a disabled veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Vaden Gibson Mitchell.

Mr. Mitchell is survived by his son, Douglas Mitchell of Lottie, Ala.; his daughter, Elizabeth (Andrew) Daughtery of Atmore, Ala.; one grandson, Houston Daughtery of Atmore; three brothers, Mervin (Marsha) Gibson of Walnut Hill, Riley (Jean) Mitchell of Harold, Fla. and Malcom (Vanessa) Mitchell of Leaksville, Miss.; two sisters, Susie (Gilbert) McCann of McCullough, Ala. and Michelle (Kookie) Ivey of Nokomis; special niece, Stephanie (Ricky) Cook  of Booneville, Ala. and a special thanks to  three special caregivers, Shelby Sellers, Davisha Johnson and Camille Nettles.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Malcolm Harrelson officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Baptist Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 24, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Cook, Doyle Dobbins, Rave Jackson, John Solomon, Gwen McGhee, Gilbert Hadley.

Danny Edward Ray 

Mr. Danny Edward Ray, age 71, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2019 in Pensacola, Fla. He lived most of his life in Georgia, Florida and Alabama and resided in Atmore, Ala. for last fifteen years of his life. He was a member of the V.F.W., Pensacola, Fla. and the American Legion of Atmore, Ala. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a retired over-the-road truck driver. He was a member of the American Truckers Assoc. and was awarded The Living Legend Award.

He was preceded in death by his wife, the love of his life, Rebecca Ray and a daughter, Dana Ray; two brothers Donny Ray and Jerry Ray.

Mr. Ray is survived by his three sons, Eddie Ray (Charlotte) of Florala, Ala., Christopher Ray (Alice) of Atmore and Michael Ray (Christy) of Huricane, West VA; two daughters, Mellisa Ann Sapp (Emory) Morrisett of East Colquitt, Ga.; Carla Ray of St. Albans, West VA; two sisters, Vera Ray of Colquitt and Tina Ray of Florala; thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 26, 2019 at 10 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Kathleen Chavers and Bro. Steve Massengil officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 25, 2019 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Simpson, Aaron Miller, Lee Graves, Chris Croom, Casey Givens, Dakota Parker.
