First Baptist Church of Atmore had a back to school pool party and fish fry on Wednesday, August 7, at Tom Byrne Park. The men of the church fried catfish, hush puppies, and tater tots. Baked beans, coleslaw, cheese grits, and chips accompanied the fish.
Members filled their plates and either sat under the cover by the pool or in lawn chairs with a view of the pool.
Following the meal, children could be seen jumping from the diving board and splashing around in the water.
It was a good evening of fellowship, swimming, a delicious meal, and a way to celebrate the end of summer vacation and the beginning of the new school year.
