At El Bethel, from left, Teresa Banks, LaAsia Henderson, Apostle Louis Banks

It’s not often a church member writes a book, but when the member is in only the ninth grade, that’s cause for recognition.
The congregation of El Bethel Holiness Church honored LaAsia Sharnae Henderson for her book Super Galactic Heroes, The Flight of the Cyclops.
LaAsia, 15, will be in the 10th grade this year. She takes all honors classes and is an all-A honor roll student.
Her interests include going to church, being with friends and family, assisting others in their time of need, and tutoring fellow classmates and students if needed.
LaAsia is the daughter of Nedra Nicole (Michael) Hobson and Kquin Parrish; the sister of Mariah Leslie, Travaris “TJ” Leslie, Jr. and Janazsia Nettles; and the granddaughter of Orbis and Martha Henderson.
LaAsia attends El Bethel Holiness Church on Sunset Drive in Atmore.
The pastor is Apostle Louis J. Banks, and Teresa Banks is Elect-Lady.
