Laura Edra Ikner

Mrs. Laura Edra Ikner, age 66, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Monday, June 10, 2019
in Fairhope, Ala. She was born in Bay Minette, Ala. to the late William and Lillian
Luker Mosley. She was employed at Vanity Fair Mills for twenty-five years and was also employed at PCI Casino. She was a member of the True Hope Fellowship Church.

She was preceded by her parents; her husband, William Craig Ikner; two
brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Ikner is survived by two daughters, Tonya (Ron) Marshall and Tina Pearson, all of
Atmore; two brothers, Ronald (Faye) Mosley and Wayne Mosley, all of
Atmore; two sisters, Linda Kirchharr and Nora (Pete) Weaver, all of Bay
Minette, Ala.; five grandchildren, Tarissa, Gabrielle, Tamran, “Lil” Ron, and
Cameron; three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 14, 2019 at 11 a.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral
Home Chapel with Bro. Doug Coburn officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday, June 13, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Brenda Gayle Armstrong

Mrs. Brenda Gayle Armstrong, age 67, a long time resident of Baldwin County, Ala. and an Atmore, Ala. resident for last few years, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2019 in Atmore. She was a homemaker. She was born in Atmore to
Edwin D, Jr and Hazel Ellison Fore.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Hazel Ellison Fore; her husband, Jack
Armstrong.

Mrs. Armstrong is survived her father, Edwin D. Fore, Jr. of Robinsonville, Ala.; two daughters, Carrie Flirt of Elberta, Ala. and Kellie (Zenon) Hunt of Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; one sister, Peggy Johnson of Selma, Ala; five grandchildren, Jordan Girard, Baileigh Hunt, Kennedy Hunt, Campbell Hunt, and Hayden Hunt; two great-grandchildren, Xavieer Girard and Oaklee Girard.

Funeral services were Thursday, June 20, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. from Atmore Memorial Chapel with Rev. C. L. Langford officiating. A graveside service followed at 3 p.m. at Swift Presbyterian Church Cemetery at Miflin, Ala.

Ronnie Morris

Mr. Ronnie Morris, age 58, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2019 at his home in Jay, Fla. He was a native of Jay, former resident of Bratt, Fla. and had resided in Jay for the past five years. He was avid fisherman, woodworker and retired from Swift Lumber Company with thirty-seven years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Mary Morris; two brothers, Alton Morris and Preston Morris and infant son, Michael Morris.

Mr. Morris is survived by his daughter, Ariel Morris of Jay; brother, Mason (Debra) Morris of Jay; sister, Vivian Joiner of Jay; two special nephews, Shannon (Cheri) Joiner and Jeremy Morris of Jay and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 20, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Daniel Lay officiating. Burial will follow at Sardis Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday, June 20, 2019 from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Lennie Barnhill Johnson

Mrs. Lennie Barnhill Johnson, age 94, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2019 in Atmore, Ala. She was a native of Milton, Fla. and had resided in Atmore most of her life. She was employed with Vanity Fair and was a caregiver for many years. She was of the Pentecostal faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Cornelia Barnhill; husbands, Ira Carpenter, Clay Whitehead and Roy Johnson; one son, Jerry Carpenter; two daughters, Edna Mae Carpenter and Marilyn Welch; four sisters and four brothers.
Mrs. Johnson is survived her three sons, Melvin Carpenter of Perdido, Ala., Steve (Gayle) Carpenter of Atmore and Raymond (Rebecca) Carpenter of Bratt, Fla.; one brother, W.C. (Doris) Barnhill of Molino, Fla.; twelve grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at 11a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Sis. Eloise Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at Serenity Garden Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 18, 2019 from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Steven Carpenter, Jeremy Carpenter, Rocky Welch, Shane Harigel, Kelly Bryant and Alan Jordan.

Marilyn Watson Bass

Mrs. Marilyn Watson Bass, age 60, of Brewton, Ala., passed away June 7, 2019 after a courageous battle with colon cancer. She was born in Brewton to Garfield and Helen Watson. She most recently joined her family home Church Saint Mark. She was a 1975 graduate of W.S. Neal High School and then enlisted in the U.S. Army. She was employed with Judy Bond, Department of Human Resources and R&C McMillan. She enjoyed her shows, HGTV, Food Network and sports. She was a dedicated sponsor of St. Jude.

She was preceded in death by her father; husband, Phillip Floyd and mother-in-law, Betty Floyd.

Mrs. Bass is survived by her mother; two daughters, Nina and Heather Bass; step-children, Timothy and Tyrone Floyd; God-daughter, Jade Harris; brother, Garfield (Twan) Watson; nephew an niece, Seth and Kayla Watson; father-in-law, Phillip Floyd, Jr.; sisters-in-law, Wanda, Sophia and Tammy; brother-in-law, Demetris (Virginia); uncles, Clifford (Mary), Aaron, Kurt and Jimmy (Ruth); aunts, Ola Mae, Francis (Charles),, Sara, Elvary and Ruby Jean; honorary sisters, Angela Watson, Shabara Williams and Marilyn Simmons.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Saint Mark M.B. Church with Elder Lenard Carpenter, Senior Pastor officiating. Burial followed in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Keith Watson, Eric McClain, Ronald Dexter, Andre Campbell, Jeffrey Floyd and Ernest Williams.

Flower bearers were family, friends and classmates of 1975.

Ms. Katherine Green, age 79, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Friday, June 14, 2019 at her home

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Cunningham Memorial Temple Faith Church.

The family will receive friends Friday, June 21, 2019 from 2 until 6 p.m. at Christian Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.

Bernice Price

Mrs. Bernice Price, age 72, of Evergreen, Ala., passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at her home. She received her education in Conecuh County. She was employed with TG&Y and later with Home Health Care. She was a member of Belleville Missionary Baptist Church. She was an active member of the Grand Chapter Order of Eastern Star 669. She was dedicated to visiting the sick and shut-in.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Price and brothers, George, Otto and Aubrey.

Mrs. Price is survived by three children, Arnette Williams of Macomb Township, Mich., Sherry D. Hicks of Evergreen and Donnie Ray (Pamela) Williams of Mobile, Ala.; five grandchildren, Deontay Wilson of Pontiac, Mich., Lataja K. (Deshawn) Wallace of Montgomery, Ala., Kortlynd Williams of Mobile, Ala., Tyree Williams of Macomb, Mich. And Joshua Hicks of Evergreen; two great-grandsons, Easton Wallace and Westley Wallace; great granddaughter Kataja (Alzamar); three sisters, Anna M. Johnson; Erma (Robert) Davison and Ida Jean Straughn; two brothers Leroy (Joyce) Johnson, John Henry (Diane) Johnson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Belleville Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Daniel Thompson IV, Pastor with Dr. W. Gabriel Taylor, officiating. Burial followed at Belleville Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were her grandsons and nephews.

Flower bearers were her granddaughters and nieces.

Elaine “Gram” Martin

Mother Elaine “Gram” Martin, age 69, of Atmore, Ala., passed away June 9, 2019. She was born in Atmore to the late Arthur Frye and Lizzie Mae Hill.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Juanita Hill Bell.

Ms. Martin is survived by three sons, Michael Martin, Frederick (Gwen) Martin and Kedrick (Latisha) Martin; three daughters, Shanta Bowen, Harlisha Martin and Shakella Martin; brothers; Joe Richard (Bessie Mae) Hill, Roger (Irma) Martin, Randy (Angela) Martin; sisters, Barbara Ann (Herman) Williams and Geraldine Brown; twenty grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren; one special God-son, Kenneth (Melissa) Johnson; one devoted nephew, Roger “Snap”(Sandra) Martin; a lifelong friend, Emilie Mims Woods and a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Lighthouse Apostolic Church with Apostle Robert Grissett, Host Pastor and Bishop Kenneth Johnson officiating.

Mr. Roosevelt Knight of Walnut Hill, Fla, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2019.

Funeral Services are tentatively scheduled for Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 2 p.m. at New St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, Reverend Sammie Moorer, Pastor.
