Mildred Day Jones

Mrs. Mildred Day Jones, age 94, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2019 in
Atmore. She worked as a manager of fabric department at T.G. & Y and was a supervisor at Vanity Fair Mills. She was born in Covington County, Ala. to the late John Bernard and Vera Dreadin Day.

She was preceded by her parents; husband, David Freeman Jones; three brothers, Joel Day, Winston Day and Raymond Day.

Mrs. Jones is survived by two sons, David (Rita) Jones, Gerald (Emily) Jones, all of Atmore; one brother, Wendell (Diane) Day of California; four grandchildren, Jon, Don, Michael and Jonathan; four great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 6, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. in Oak Hill Cemetery with Carolyn Mason officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Lottie Melindy Hall

Mrs. Lottie Melindy Hall, age 102, of Bay Springs, Fla., passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2019
in Milton, Fla. She was a homemaker. She was born in Escambia County, Ala. to the late John Thomas and Luella Jernigan Lewis.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Grover Leslie Hall; one son, Grover Hall; three brothers and five sisters.

Mrs. Hall is survived by one son, Wendell (Karen) Hall of Pace, Fla.; two daughters, Eunice (Marion) Bailey of Molino, Fla. and Bernice (Ralph) Carrick of Lexington, N.C.; nine grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 7, 2019 at 2 p.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jeff McKee officiating. Interment will follow in Bay Springs Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jason Lamb, Randy Bailey, Charles Bailey, Lamar Lamb, Justin Cruce and Kelly Frady.

The family will receive friends Friday, June 7, 2019 from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m.

Eunice Sasser Reynolds

Mrs. Eunice Sasser Reynolds passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2019. She was born in Atmore, Ala. to the late Annie Lenora Luker Sasser and Wilson Leroy Sasser. She was a member of First Independent Methodist Church. She worked for AT&T for thirty-three years. After retiring, she was active in the Skyland Park Garden Club and AT&T Pioneers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Percy Reynolds, Jr. and son, John Percy Reynolds, III; three sisters, Carolyn Sasser Hetzel, Marie Sasser Bryant and Evelyn Sasser Dillree; two brothers, Edward Leroy Sasser and Max Farrell Sasser.

Mrs. Reynolds is survived by her son, Jeffery Paul Reynolds of Jackson, Miss., his wife, Rebecca, and three granddaughters, Emily Jane, Kathryn Cory and Parker Marie; two sisters, Patsy Sasser Miller and Joyce Sasser Brown.

The family will receive friends Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street until funeral to begin at 12:00. Graveside service to follow: Flomaton Cemetery, Upper Creek Road, Flomaton, Alabama.

Charles Harold Therrell 

Mr. Charles Harold Therrell, age 72, passed away Monday, June 3, 2019 at his home in Century, Fla. He was a native of Rahway, N.J. and had resided in Century for the past forty years. He retired from the Alabama National Guard with twenty-eight years of service. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict serving with the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the Century First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife of thirty-nine years, Wanda Brown Therrell and father, Jerome Therrell.

Mr. Therrell is survived by his mother, Mary Lou Therrell of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; one son, Greg (Tina) Therrell of McDavid, Fla.; two daughters, Traci Lynn Therrell of Century and Stacey Marie (Mike) Johnson of Flomaton, Ala.; two sisters, Karen Therrell and Lauree Hisler, both of Gulf Breeze; six grandchildren, Spencer, Hayden, Ashton, Kelsey, Nathan and Caleb and ten great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Aleah, Trayton, Ian, Jazlynn, Kaison, Zane, Kamberlynn, Kylyn and Kensley.

Funeral services were held Friday, June 7, 2019 at 10 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. David Boyd officiating. Burial followed at Semirah Springs Cemetery.

The family received friends Thursday, June 6, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Randy Sims, Dak Sims, Nathan Therrell, Caleb Therrell, Mike Johnson and Spencer Johnson.

Arnold L. Pugh 

Mr. Arnold L. Pugh, age 89, of Oak Grove, Fla., passed away Thursday, June 6, 2019 in Jay, Fla. He was born to the late Elvis Berlin and Marie Bell Peterson Pugh in Pensacola, Fla. He served in the United States Marine Corps. He was a retired supervisor for many years installing power lines. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Mr. Pugh is survived by his wife of sixty-eight years, Erlene McCall Pugh of Oak Grov; two sons, Donald L. (Donna) Pugh of Cantonment, Fla. and Darryl (Concha) Pugh of Canton, Ga.; one daughter, Connie (Steven) Hart of Oak Grove; seven grandchildren Jennifer Nolan, Shawn Pugh, Brian Hart, Denise Bushaw, Daniel Hart, David Pugh and Rachel Losier.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 9, 2019 at 2 p.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Roy Chewing officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Jerry Sheppard, Sam Walker, Ernie Hester, George Carpenter, Donald Dennis and Elvin Pugh.

Wayne Adrian Nall Sr.

Mr. Wayne Adrian Nall, Sr., age 81, of Prattville, Ala., passed away Friday, May 17, 2019. He was raised by his mother, Myrtice Nall. He was a 1955 graduate of Escambia County High School and attended Auburn University. He raised his family in the Wiregrass area of Southeast Alabama teaching his children to love God, to love their neighbors as themselves, and to become productive members of society. He served as a deacon in his church for several decades, most recently at Prattville Primitive Baptist Church. His faith in God sustained him through his entire life. He held a variety of occupations including draftsman, engineer, and insurance representative. Most recently, he was a business owner of Adrian’s Home Repair in Prattville. He was an avid gardener for much of his adult life. He also enjoyed attending and participating in Sacred Harp singings.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Trina Farris and second wife, Voncile Graves.

Mr. Nall is survived by his son, Wayne Adrian Nall, Jr. (Kathy) of Cynthiana, Ind. and his daughter, Lori Herring (Richard) of Prattville, Ala.; four grandsons; three granddaughters; three great-grandsons and three great-granddaughters.

The family received friends Tuesday, May 21, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 from 9 to 9:30 a.m. followed with a Sacred Harp singing from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. all at Ridout Funeral Home.

A memorial service was held Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at 10 a.m. with Elder Jerry Abernathy and Pastor Wayne Nall officiating. Friends and family were given opportunity to share their memories of Adrian during the service. Interment followed at Memory Gardens in Prattville.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be sent to Prattville Primitive Baptist Church in care of Jerry Abernathy 272 E. Main St., Prattville, AL 36067. Checks may be made out to Prattville Primitive Baptist Church. Please make notation to Adrian Nall Fund.

Thomas Leon Adkins 

Mr. Thomas Leon Adkins, age 64, passed away Friday, June 7, 2019 at his home in Andalusia, Ala. He was a native of Birmingham, Ala., former resident of Lafayette, La. and had resided in Andalusia for the past six years. He was of the Jehovah’s Witness faith.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Birdie Ann Burkett.

Mr. Adkins is survived by his father, Mose E. Burkett of Jay, Fla.; loving companion, Cindy Murphy of Andalusia; four daughters, Michelle Adkins of Century, Fla., Rebecca Adkins of McDavid, Fla., Jennifer Adkins and Maegan (Joshua) Barras, all of Lafayette; one brother, Rodney (Dana) Burkett of Century; nine grandchildren, Miranda, Dylan, Sabrena, Collin, Sophia, Kaden, Mattox, Cheyenne and Bayleigh and three great-grandchildren, Shayla, Ivy and Kamdyn.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Deborah “Debbie” Williams

Ms. Deborah “Debbie” Williams, age 62, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2019. She was born to Carrie Lee Woods and Bradford Williams. She was reared by Catherine and Rosefield Benjamin of Walnut Hill, Fla. She served as a custodian at Northview High School before leaving the workforce to help her daughter and grandchildren. She was known for defending the underdog and telling the truth in love. She was a woman of God with great integrity and a true thirst for the Word of God and knowledge.

Ms. Williams is survived by two children, Kevin (Natasha) Williams and Crystal (Tonnie) Smith and nine grandchildren, Latonja, Darius, Titiana, Amaya, Kira, Jordan, Jalicia, Kyndall, and Zuri; eight brothers and sisters, Charlie (Rose) Woods, Jr., Calvin “Mikey” (Diedra) Woods, Kennedy “Bebe” (Wanda) Woods, Stanley Woods, Kathy (Aaron) Herbert, Sandra (Leandre) May, Cynthia Nelson, Tammy Woods; cousins she affectionately referred to as her brother Leo Benjamin, and sisters Jeannie (Joseph) Ferrell, Alice (Jeffery) Robinson and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the House of Prayer, 86 North Cypress Street| Walnut Hill with Rev. Danny Fountain, Host Pastor; Bernard L. Bryant, Director of Order; Pastor Elect, Crystal Smith, Eulogist.

The family will receive friends Friday, June 14, 2019 from 1 until 5 p.m. at the Chapel of Mayberry Funeral Home.
