Buford Deuel Nall

Mr. Buford Deuel Nall, age 95, and longtime resident of Mobile, Ala., passed away Sunday, May 26, 2019. He was a member of Woodbridge Baptist Church, Mobile and previously a long time member of Seven Hills Baptist Church, Mobile.

Mr. Nall is survived by his daughters, Karen Nall (Robert) Gross and Charlotte Griffin (Larry) Johns; grandchildren, Monica (Jason) Hester, Meredith (Mark) Litton, Amanda (Jarrod) Redden, Jonathan (Sheree) Griffin; twelve great-grandchildren and a large extended family.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 1, 2019 at noon from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home, Theodore, Ala. Interment followed in Springhill Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Steven Wayne Carter

Mr. Steven Wayne Carter, age 44, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2019 in Destin, Fla. He was a native of Ocean Port, N.J., former resident of Byrneville, Fla. and had resided in Jay, Fla. for the past six years. He was a 1992 graduate of Century High School, a member of the Jay, Fla. Band Boosters and the Pine Level Baptist Church. He was employed with CSX Railroad for the past thirteen years.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sanford C. and Alice Bush and Lance and Nina Carter.

Mr. Carter is survived by his parents, Lance C. (Mary Alice) Carter of Century, Fla.; wife of four years, Dawn Carter of Jay; two sons, Xavier Carter of Casper, Wy. and Devin Enfinger of Jay; two daughters, Kaedence Carter of Casper and Brittany Lewis of Jay; three brothers, Matt (Dawn) Carter of McDavid, Fla., Mark (Shila) Carter of Byrneville and William (Marissa) Rawlinson of Norfolk, Va.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 10 a.m. at Pine Level Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Oakes and Rev. Nathan Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Level Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday, May 31, 2019 from 5:30 until 8:30 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Jason Holley, Bobby Franklin, Matt Brooks, Lynd Coxwell, Jason White and Brian Hall.

In lieu of flowers donation may be made to the Steven Carter Memorial Scholarship Fund at Gulf Winds Bank.

Julius James Flowers

Mr. Julius James Flowers, age 99, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2019 in Bay Minette, Ala. He was a native of Monroe County, Ala., former resident of Goodway, Ala. and had resided in Spanish Fort, Ala. for the past ten years. He was a hard working father, loved to farm, from daylight to dark and was a very minute (impatient) person.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Willie Mae Flowers; son, James Flowers; granddaughter, Samantha Wilkerson; several sisters; one brother and two sons-in-law.
Mr. Flowers is survived by two daughters, Ann Russell of Spanish Fort and Lois Davis of Goodway; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at 10 a.m. at Serenity Garden Cemetery with Rev. Randy Davis officiating.

Tommy Roscoe Bryars, Sr.

Mr. Tommy Roscoe Bryars, Sr., age 69, passed away Friday, May 31, 2019 in Mobile, Ala.
He was a native of Foley, Ala., former resident of Robertsdale, Ala. and had resided in Bay Minette, Ala. for the past thirty-five years. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elgie and Jesse Mae Bryars and sister, Millard Minnues.
Mr. Bryars is survived by the mother of his children, Norma Faye Weekly of Hattiesburg, Miss.; four sons, Shannon Devon Bryars, Thomas Edward Bryars, Robert E. Bryars and Tommy Roscoe Bryars, Jr., all of Bay Minette; two daughters, Patricia Millers Bryars of Tampa, Fla. and Elizabeth Ashley Bryars of Bay Minette; one brother, Troy Alton Bryars of Fairhope, Ala. and nineteen grandchildren, Mackala McGloughin, Lucas Cain Bryars, Gary Wade Wize, Hunter Dalton Graham, Madison Calley Bryars, Taylor Thornton Graham, Tyler Franklin Huggins, Eain Cowser, Aaron Cowser, Jamie Bryars, Damin Corey, Thomas Marty Bryars, Brady Roscoe Bryars, Nikki Quinley, Dylon Quinley, Abby Gail Parker, Erica Lashia Bryars, Hailey LeeAnn Bryars and Courtney Breanne Bryars.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 7, 2019 at 3 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Bubba Rolin officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday, June 7, 2019 from 1:30 p.m. until service time at 3 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Mr. Carl Williams, age 55 passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2019.

Selwondra L. Pugh

Ms. Selwondra L. Pugh, age 40, of Mobile, Ala., passed away Monday, May 27, 2019. She was born to the late Gloria Ann Miles. She was a graduate of Benjamin Russell High School in Alexander City, Ala. She was a faithful member of the solid Rock Ministries and served on both Praise Team and Choir.

Ms. Pugh is survived by three daughters: Sekwondria (Johnnie) Coleman, Deveatrius and Willishia Pugh; five siblings, Emanuel, Monique, Nathaniel, Travis Dansby and Lavanda Taylor; daughter of Selvin J. Carson, Bishop Lavender (Hazel) Miles; a conjoined family of six more siblings, Lisha Rhoden, Michael, Pastor Corey (Angela) McCoy, Nicandra, Shareese and Devon Flenord; special aunt, Gloria Morson, Sister Latreace Williams; aunts and uncles, Tara, Chris, Alice, Mary, Martha, Fanny, Jeanette, Crystal, Curtis and Gloria Morson; nieces and nephews, Clinton, Kaitlyn, Jayden, Aliyah, Diamond, Jarmcus, McKenzie, McKinely, Destinee, Jasmine, Lakendrick, Zedrick and Kamari; grandmother, Ann, “Madea;” best friends, Rachel, “Tootie, Stacey and Erica Malone as well as many other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Solid Rock Ministries, Mobile, with Dr. Mary Young officiating. Interment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Mobile.

Crishawn Jermaine Westry, Jr.

Mr. Crishawn Jermaine Westry, Jr., age 19, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Saturday, May 18, 2019. He was born to Shannon Black and Jermaine Westry. He attended Escambia County High School. He was a member of Tate Community Church in Coy, Ala. He enjoyed playing games, listening to music and just being a community and neighborhood friend.

He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Georgia Mae Black and Clara Nettles; grandfather, Clifford Earl Westry; great-grandparents, Louise McCants, Otha McCants, Sarah Nelson and Ochilee Nelson; aunts, Jacqueline Dortch and Helen Dortch; uncle, Patrick Nelson

Mr. Westry is survived by his parents, Shannon (Timothy) Williams and Jermaine (Carla) Westry, all of Atmore; sister, Amanda Black; brother, La’Garic Black; special niece, Reginae Black, all of Atmore; grandmother, Earlene Westry of Coy; two aunts, Sarah (Darrell) Johnson of Atlanta, Ga. and Felicia (Charles) Bryant of Atmore; three uncles, Earl Westry, Santago Westry and John Dion Westry, all of Coy; Godmother, Carisa Dortch of Atmore; close friends, Nick Ankum, Deno, Ty Dailey, Zion Jackson, Quan Thames, Emmanuel Etheridge, all of Atmore; special and devoted cousin, Jy’Lyn Cooper of Atmore and a host of other great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Tait Community Church with Rev. Isiah Perry Pastor officiating. Interment followed at Tate Chapel Cemetery.

Willie James Dailey

Mr. Willie James Dailey, age 69, of Evergreen, Ala., passed away Wednesday, May, 22, 2019 in Evergreen. He was born to the late Cleveland and Ester M. Dailey, Sr. He worked for the City of Evergreen for thirty-years and is best known by many members of the community as “Superman”. He was an avid fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Lucille Dailey; brother, Cleveland Dailey, Jr.; daughter, Brinder Haynes and son, Henry Turner.

Mr. Dailey is survived by his wife, Lucille Dailey of Evergreen; daughter, Betty Jean Turner of Opp, Ala.; brothers, Arther (Ethel Mae) Dailey, Charles (Geraldine) Dailey, all of Monroeville, Ala., Elvin (Kizzie) Dailey of Pensacola, Fla.; sisters, Gladys Dailey, Lillie Alberta Davidson, all of Frisco City, Ala.; uncle, Prince Dailey Sr. of Mobile, Ala.; grandchildren, Frederick Turner and Tikettress Taylor, all of Tampa, Fla., Alicia (the late Dahmari Sr.) Codrington and Antwain Turner, all of Colorado Springs, Co.; great-grandchildren, special friend, Dalton Campbell of Evergreen and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Sunday, June 2, 2019 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Kim D. Yarber officiating. Interment followed at Little Pine Level Cemetery, Mixonville, Ala.

Pallbearers were his brothers and friends.

Melanie Kinman Owens

Mrs. Melanie Kinman Owens, age 46, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2019 in Atmore, Ala.  She was a native and life-long resident of Atmore. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and niece. She was a member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians, the Atmore Apostolic Church. She loved music, travel and the beach.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Myrtis McGhee Kinman; paternal grandparents, Quincy and Elizabeth Kinman and maternal grandparents, Levi and Treacy McGhee.
Mrs. Owens is survived by her father, David L. Kinman of Atmore; husband, Wesley K. Owens of Atmore; two sons, Logan Dewayne Boatwright of Marianna, Fla. and Jacob Keith Owens of Killen, Ala.; one daughter, Madelyn Hope Boatwright of Atmore; one brother, David Allen (Jessica Ramsey) Kinman of Atmore; one niece, Kendall Izabella Kinman of Atmore and one nephew, Hayden Connor Kinman of Atmore.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 6, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Atmore Apostolic Church with Rev. Tim James and Bro. Hunter Richardson officiating. Burial will follow at New Home Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 5, 2019 from 6 p.m. until service time at 11 a.m. at Atmore Apostolic Church.
