Escambia County High School and Northview High School are set to take the field for pre-season football action on Friday night at 7 p.m. at Herbert Barnes Stadium.
Many fans are eager to see what the famed ‘Thunder and Lighting’ offense of new coach Scott Mason will bring to the Blue Devils playbook.
Mason led Florala High School to a 5-6 overall record last season. The Blue Devils went 6-4 overall and 4-3 in region play.
Their preseason opponent, Northview’s Chiefs, earned their first postseason berth in six years last year and made it to the second round before their season ended.
Northview will be a formidable opponent that is looking to challenge for a title this season.
As both schools take the field in preparation for Friday night’s pre-season action, fans can expect a tough, physical, thrilling and fast-paced football game.
