Escambia County High School’s football team hosted its second fundraiser of the year on April 12 and 13 at the Sound, part of the Wind Creek entertainment complex.
The Midnight Shepherds band entertained a crowd of over 100 with original hits and covers.
“It was a really good event for us,” ECHS head coach Scott Mason said. “We had a good turnout, and the band put on an awesome performance. They really outdid themselves.”
The band included Mason’s son, guitarist Turner Mason, a former fill-in member of internationally acclaimed rockers 3 Doors Down.
“Fundraising is an important task that we must perform to be able to better the ECHS athletic program,” the guitarist’s father said earlier this year. “We are looking to do several different fundraising events that are fun and uncommon.”
As the Blue Devils gear up for spring training, other fundraisers are planned with organizations such as Pepsi, which Scott Mason said will be joining up with ECHS in the coming weeks for a special fundraiser that has a great purpose.
More information will be made available at a later date.
