Easter events

News Staff Report

If Easter is approaching, it must be time for egg hunts. Following is information on hunts coming up this Saturday.
Easter in the Park
The Easter Bunny will be the featured guest again this year as Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce presents its annual Easter in the Park event this Saturday, April 13, at Heritage Park.
Chamber officials and employees, along with trustees and special events sponsors have been preparing more than 3,000 eggs and other surprises for this year’s free event, which will last from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.
The featured guest usually arrives, under police escort, aboard the Easter Express Train to officially kick off the event.
Numerous familiar fun activities — including bunny hop contests, face painting, train rides, Best Custom Easter Hat Contest, games, and more — will help keep the younger attendees occupied. Parents may choose to purchase a special Easter photo from L House Photography.
This year’s trustees and sponsors are City of Atmore, Poarch Band of Creek Indians, Wind Creek Hospitality, Diamond Gasoline, First National Bank & Trust, Gulf Winds Credit Union, United Bank, Pepsi Cola Bottling Co., and Coastal Alabama Community College.
For additional information about the event, contact Emily Wilson or Anna Norton, by phone at 251-368-3305; by email at Director@AtmoreChamber.com or FrontDesk@AtmoreChamber.com, or drop by the Chamber offices at 137 North Main Street (corner of Main and Ridgeley).
