ECMS student places in state event

Akyrah Bradley, an eighth-grader at Escambia County Middle School, recently placed third in a statewide Bicentennial event.
The annual State Superintendent’s Visual Arts Exhibits and Bicentennial Celebration is being held February and March 2019. Students at ECMS were given an opportunity to participate in the Alabama Bicentennial Art Contest. Akyrah won third place in the Secondary Division of the Alabama Bicentennial Art Contest.
Akyrah attended a luncheon and awards ceremony, in Montgomery, February 14, to honor her achievement. She was accompanied by Escambia Superintendent of Education John Knott and Cordia Lee, seventh- and eighth-grade guidance counselor.
Akyrah’s art work will be on display in the Old Supreme Court Library of the Alabama State Capital.
