Ernest Ward Middle School seventh-graders Kelsey Boykin and Judson Lee placed in the 2019 Annual West Panhandle Regional Science & Engineering Fair at UWF.
The students had to create individual science fair boards and give interview presentations.
Kelsey Boykin – In Chemistry, she took first place, Overall, Junior Division. Kelsey received Dr. B.H. Daughdrill, Special Award ($50 cash and Certificate); Dr. John P. Riehm Memorial, Special Award, ($50 cash and Certificate); Society for Science & the Public – Broadcom Foundation, Special Award, (Certificate, letter of invite to register for 2019 Broadcom Masters national competition, T-shirt). Selected finalists of competition will win $500 and an all-expense paid trip to Washington D.C., October 25-30, 2019 for the Broadcom Masters finals. Each of the finalists’ schools will receive $1,000 and teachers of semifinalists also receive special awards. State Fair Finalists will represent EWMS at Lakeland Fla. March 26-March 29.
Judson Lee – In Engineering and Material Sciences, he took third place, Overall, Junior Division. Judson received Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International, Special Award ($25 gift card and Certificate); REMG Aviation, Special Award, ($25 gift card and Certificate).
