In September, the Escambia County Training School held their 17th annual reunion. The Eagles gathered at Power Pentecostal Holiness Church, pastor Apostle Bruce Armstrong.
A fund raiser was held and a portion of the proceeds was used last week to buy goody bags for Atmore Nursing Center residents. Delivering bags were Barbara Poole Harris (class of 1967), Sarah Stots Flavors (class of 1967), Annie Leslie Poole (class of 1973), Gwen Dale Frye (class of 1969), and Ann McNeal (class of 1972). Accepting on behalf of the residents were Ann Montgomery and Darlene Murphy with the ANC activities department.
In May 2019, the alumni will award the ECTS Eagle scholarship to high school students. It is unknown at this time the amount or number of scholarships that will be awarded.
If anyone would like to donate to this non-profit organization, please make check payable to ECTS Alumni Gathering and give to any member of the class of 1967.
Barbara Poole Harris is the founder and chairwoman of the organization with Eula McNeil Davis serving as advisor.
