Pastor and Minister Wives of Escambia County, Ala. provides a number of community services throughout the year. Their projects often involve baskets filled with items for the elderly, sick and shut-in. However, their most recent endeavor was the first of its kind for the organization. They hosted a marriage seminar at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church Thursday, August 15.
Married couples and singles thinking about getting married were invited to hear Bishop Bobby and Pastor Janet Watkins with Moment of Truth Outreach, Pensacola.
The theme of the seminar was “Do Everything In Love.” Theme Scripture was “Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ loved the church, and gave Himself for it.” Ephesians 5:22, 25.
The evening began with devotion in song by the Rev. Monroe and Sis. Nora Tucker, Mt. Olive, and the Rev. Michael and Sis. Delois Wilson, Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church.
Sis. Yvonne Archie served as mistress of ceremony. Others participating in the service were Sis. Latonia Brooks, Sis. Linda Jackson, and Pastor Nancy Riley.
