Mable W. Eicher

Mable W. Eicher, age 82 of Atmore, Ala., passed away Monday, July 30, 2018 in Bay Minette, Ala. She was born in Bratt, Fla. to the late Walter and Lillie Mae Faircloth West. She worked at B.C. Moore’s in Atmore for many years and later retired. She was a member of New Home United Pentecostal Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant son and her son, Michael Gohagan.

Mrs. Eicher is survived by her son, Anthony (Rita) Hall of Poarch, Ala.; daughter, Belinda Kay (Joe) Wooten of Bratt and one sister, Walter Mae Paul of Bay Minette; special nephew, Eddie “Peanut” Priest and five grandchildren, Chad, Brad, Shane, Dustin and Breanna; eight great- grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday, August 3, 2018 at 10 a.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Steve Breceda and Bro. Rowdy Boyte officiating. Burial followed in Bratt-Godwin Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Brad Wooten, Dustin Hall, Cade Wooten, Daylon Wooten, Kelton Wooten and Trey McGhee.

Honorary pallbearers were Casey Lane Wooten, Heath Fillmore, Ardis Rolin, Russell Braswell, Shannon Priest, Jerry Hawkins, and Jerry Mason.

The family received friends Thursday, August 2, 2018 from 6 until 8 p.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Donald Ray Helton  

Helton

Mr. Donald Ray Helton, age 79, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2018 in Pensacola, Fla. He was a native of Huxford, Ala., former resident of the Atmore, Ala. area and has resided in Cantonment, Fla. since 1965. He was an Elder in the Remnant Church of Latter-Day Saints. He was a 1962 graduate of the University of Alabama with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, and a 7th grade Science Teacher at Ransom Middle School. His passions were Alabama football and fishing.

Mr. Helton is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Patsy Helton of Cantonment; a son. Michael (Eric O’Briant) Helton of Kennesaw, Ga.; one brother, Gary Helton (Lola Alverson) of Atmore; one sister, Glenda and Alan Rundall of Lillian, Ala.; niece, Sheron Rundall of Lillian  and aunt, Ruth Vickery of Atmore.

Funeral services were held Sunday, August 5, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Evangelist Les Kelly and Evangelist Dick Dour officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery.

The family received friends Sunday, August 5, 2018 from noon until service time at 2 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Lamar Wiggins, Rick Wiggins, Curtis Wiggins, Alan Odom, Rick Brooks and Glen Helton.

Roger G. Turberville    

Mr. Roger G. Turberville, age 67, passed away Friday, August 3, 2018 in Frisco City, Ala.

He was a native of Fairhope, Ala. and had resided in the Atmore, Ala. area most of his life. He was the former owner of Uriah Small Engines. He was a devoted member at Calvary Baptist Church of Excel, Ala. He served with the USAF during the Vietnam Conflict. He was an avid Alabama football fan. He was a 1969 graduate of Escambia County High School and a 1979 graduate of the University of South Alabama. He was an inventor and was the holder of several patents.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Turberville and son, John Turberville.

Mr. Turberville is survived by his father, Calvin C. Turberville of Monroeville, Ala.; one daughter, Jeana Turberville Hughes of Atmore; one brother, Wayne (Rhonda) Turberville of Troy, Ala.; one sister, Paula (Steve) MaGee of Pensacola, Fla.; three grandchildren, Nicole Turberville, Georgia Turberville and Cameron Hughes and one great-grandchild, Makenna Harrell.

Funeral services were held Monday, August 6, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Abstor and Bro. Bill Pascal officiating. Burial followed at Mineola Methodist Cemetery.

The family received friends Sunday, August 5, 2018 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Benaiah Absher, Lester Peavy, Claude Dean, WC Baggett, Cornelius Phillips and Jordan Murdock.

Eubie Trawick

Mr. Eubie Dean Trawick, Sr., age 83, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Sunday, August 5, 2018 in Fairhope, Ala. He was born to the late Elbert H. and Beedie Beasley Trawick in Barnett’s Crossroad, Ala. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Atmore. He was retired as a road supervisor with the Escambia County Alabama Road Department.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Kathryn S. Trawick; daughter, Wanda Kaye Trawick and a sister, Joyce Ashcraft.
Mr. Trawick is survived by his son, Eubie Dean, Jr. (Sheryl) Trawick of Spanish Fort, Ala.; one brother, William “Bill” Marion (Jean) Trawick of Atmore; three grandchildren, Amy (Jess) Waldrop, Sarah (Jonny) Fiala, Trinity Kaye Trawick and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at 10 a.m. from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Diane Everette, Rev. Rife Stewart and Rev. Brennan Peacock officiating. Burial followed in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be, Jess Waldrop, Jonny Fiala, Josh Fiala and Mark Dawson.

Honorary pallbearer will be Doug Renfroe.

Linda Diana Jefferson

Ms. Linda Diana Jefferson, age 58, of Brewton, Ala., passed away Thursday, July 26, 2018 in Pensacola, Fla. She had been employed by Pic N Pay, K-Mart and Kangaroo gas station.

She was preceded in death by one sister and grandparents, John and Leslie Lewis.

Ms. Jefferson is survived by her daughter, Jessica Lynell Jefferson and one grandchild, Antonio Jermaine Booker, Jr., both the Brewton; two extended families, the Williams and Dixon family; four very special friends, Valerie (Tony) Long, Ronald Thomas, Tara (Thomas) Gould and Regina (Joe) Watson along with a host of other uncles, aunts, cousins, relatives and friends.

A memorial service was held Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Christian Memorial Funeral Chapel, Brewton.

Obie Lewis “Buster” Johnson

Mr. Obie Lewis “Buster” Johnson, age 83, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Friday, July 27, 2018. He was born in Freemanville, Ala. to the late Samuel and Louise Johnson. He attended school in Escambia County, Ala. He worked in New Jersey working for Hatfield Wire and Cable and drove trucks with his twin brother for several years. He then started an extermination business until he retired and relocated to Atmore, Ala. where he was caregiver for his uncle Albert Jackson,

Mr. Johnson is survived by his son, Derek and daughter Michelle; five sisters, Ann Wesley of Atlanta, Ga., Jahaser (Leroy) Sass of Monks Cannon of S. C., Ella Brown of Regalwood, N.C., Georgia Mae (Preston) Jones of Clear Water, Fla. and Linda Royal of Warner Robbins, Ga.; brothers: twin, Elois Johnson and Gideon Johnson, both of Atmore, Eric (Johnnie Mae) Johnson of Vista, Calif.; grandchildren, Zyel, Zion, McQuin, Shykire, Tariq and Shey; host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Celebration of life was held Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Robinson-Christian Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.

Timothy Williams

Mr. Timothy Williams, age 58, of Stockton, Ala. passed away Monday, July 30, 2018 at his residence. A native and lifelong resident of Stockton he was a graduate of Baldwin County High School. He was a member of New Calvary Apostolic Holiness Church in Bay Minette, Ala. He was a friend and helper to many in Stockton as he did mechanic work.

He has preceded in death by his father, Martin Williams, Jr.

Mr. Williams is survived by his mother, Roxie Anna Williams of Stockton; seven sisters, Louise Williams, Betty Joe Williams, and Jenny (Dwayne) Williams all of Chicago, Ill., Annie D. Williams, Jeanette (Milton) Bryant, and Linda (Casey) Jones, all of Stockton and Charlotte Williams of Atlanta, Ga.; six brothers, Martin, III (Shirley) Williams and Raymond Williams, all of Garland, Texas, Donald (Alberta) Williams of Chicago, Enoch (Nancy) Williams, Nelson (Brenda) Williams, all of Stockton and Labron (Mary) Williams of Bay Minette, a devoted cousin, Elizar Lawson of Stockton and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Celebration of Life service was held Saturday, August. 4, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Longmire – Jones Memorial Chapel of Turner Funeral Chapel, 83 Westbrook Lane, Atmore with Rev. John Cox – officiating and Min. Nelson Williams- Eulogist.

Ella “Mookie” J. Roberts

Ms. Ella “Mookie” J. Roberts, age 60, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2018. She was born in Escambia County, Ala. to the late William and Eva Mae Johnson. She was a 1975 graduate of Escambia County High School. She attended Jefferson Davis Community College for two years. She was employed by Vanity Fair for a number of years. She was very intelligent, loving and caring, a woman of tremendous strength.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, William Johnson and sister, Linda Carolyn Boykin.

Ms. Roberts is survived by her daughter, Tameakio Nuntressa Roberts. Grandson, Kristian Isaiah DeShawn Boggan; two sisters, Sherry (Harold) Johnson and Mahalia Johnson; three brothers, Rochester Johnson, Edgar (Modessa) Johnson and Coley (Angela) Johnson; loving niece, L’Kamice Boykin; loving nephew, Tacoran LeKief Johnson and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, August 6, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Full Gospel Baptist Church with Pastor F.D. Banks, officiating. Interment followed in Stallworth Cemetery.

Pallbearers and flower bearers were family and friends.

Willie Mae Robinson-Welch

Mrs. Willie Mae Robinson-Welch, age 83, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Sunday, July 22, 2018. She was born in Wetumpka, Ala. to the late Roberta Ellis and RC Robison. She was educated in Elmore County School System. She was a faithful member of Gaines Chapel A.M.E. Church where she served on the usher board and Mission Society.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Marilyn Robinson; husband, Mack Welch; siblings, Jettie Lean Robinson, Mae Ollie Robinson, Alice Robinson, Thomas Robinson, Charlie Robinson, Willie Allan Robinson, Joseph Robinson, Bo Robinson and Edgar Robinson.

Mrs. Welch is survived by one sister, Emma Nelson of Wetumpka; brothers, Jessie (Betty) Robinson of Atmore, Frank (Ethel) Robinson of Union Springs, Ala.; nephew, Bernard (Rosa) Robinson and niece, Faye (Thomas) Harley; great niece, Barbara Ann Roberts of Montgomery, Ala., family and friends, Claudia Robinson, Jennifer Watkins, Ruby Nell (Robert) White and the Maxwell family of Atmore; host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Gaines Chapel A.M.E. Church with Rev. Amos Smith, Pastor and Eulogist. Interment followed in Fairview Cemetery.

Joseph Thomas Moseley

Mr. Joseph Thomas Moseley, age 86, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2018 at William F. Green Veterans Home in Bay Minette, Ala. He was born in Lottie, Ala. to the late Arant and Janie King Moseley. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Bay Minette, Ala.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Laurie Bryars Moseley and son Steve Moseley.

Mr. Moseley is survived by his brothers, James (Buddy) Moseley and wife Shirley of Lottie, Ala.

Billy Ray Moseley of Bay Minette; granddaughters, Blaire (Chris) Singleton of Atmore, Ala.,

Gina (Jonathan) Wetzel of Crestview, Fla., Miranda (Tony) Moody of Byrneville, Fla.; grandson, Denver Moseley of Atmore; great-grandchildren, Jaxon Singleton, Cole Singleton, Talerie (Kyle) McGhee, Chesnea Wetzel, Brody Wetzel, Hunter Moseley, Hudson Moody, Mary Stephen Moody, Asher Moseley and Dylan Estes; three sisters-in-law, Sammie (Lonnie) Turberville and Betty Vinson, all of Atmore and Mary (Charles) Fickling of Perdido, Ala.; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Ben Reece officiating. Burial will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery.
