Offering Comfort

Blackburn

by BONNIE BARTEL LATINO

Former Atmore resident, the Reverend William Blackburn recently heard that I have not been well for quite some time. In early May, the Southern Baptist

minister from Fort Smith, Arkansas sent me a most delightful and inspirational gift.

The present is an audio CD of William reading selected Psalms with glorious background music. I find it comforting and relaxing.

Having grown up in Atmore with William, I easily recognize his sweet Southern voice, but now with maturity his tone holds the comfort that somehow only

a minister’s voice can offer.

I think many others would enjoy the CD, which is called “Comfort in Times of Trouble,” whether one is ill or not, and even if they have never met William.

I asked if he minded if I shared info about his delightful CD because I feel certain others will want to purchase a copy. What a wonderful gift the CD makes.

After several days William replied that he had thought about it, and is making the CD available free for only the cost of shipping and handling: $10.

Details about the special offer may be found online at http://www.williamblackburn.com/free-cd/

William has led an interesting life since leaving Atmore after graduating with the Escambia County High School Class of 1965.

William met his wife, Gaius, who is a partner in his ministry, while they were both in college at the University of Arkansas – Monticello. After 43 years of marriage, they live in Fort Smith, have a son and daughter-in-law, plus four grandchildren.
