James Daniel “Danny” Dunsford, Jr.
Mr. James Daniel “Danny” Dunsford, Jr., age 55, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018 at his home in Flomaton, Ala. He was a native and life-long resident of Flomaton. He was of the Christian faith.

Mr. Dunsford is survived by his father, James Daniel (Judy) Dunsford, Sr. of Grand Bay, Ala.; mother, Angie Gilmore (Bill) Weaver of Byrneville, Fla.; wife, April W. Dunsford of Flomaton; one son, Steven Zachary Dunsford of Flomaton; two daughters, Amber D. (Brandon) Smith of Atmore, Ala. and Ashley M. Dunsford of Byrneville; three brothers, Stephen F. Dunsford of Byrneville, C. Douglas and Terry W. Dunsford, both of Grand Bay; two sisters, Angela F. (Tommy Lee) Johnson of Century, Fla. and Patricia L. Dunsford of Grand Bay and three grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 2, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Hawkins officiating. Burial followed at the Byrneville Methodist Cemetery.

The family received friends Sunday, April 1, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Buster Nall, Michael Chavers, Zac Dunsford, Roy German, Brandon Smith and Mayson Dunsford.

Celestine A. Arnold-Keye
Ms. Celestine Arnold-Keye, age 66, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Friday, March 30, 2018 at Thomas Hospital, Fairhope, Ala.

Funeral service are incomplete at this time but will be announced by Turner Funeral Chapel LLC.

Douglas Michael Norton
Mr. Douglas Michael Norton, age 64, of Pensacola, Fla., formerly of Macon, Ga., passed away Friday, March 30, 2018. He was born in Macon, Ga. to Douglas Norton and Myrtle Bond Combs. He graduated from Hernando High School with the Class of 1972. He joined the United States Navy in 1976 and served aboard the USS John F. Kennedy.

Once retired from the Navy, he worked for the U.S. Postal service, and then after, he worked as a long-haul truck driver. He loved fishing, VW restoration, watching NASCAR, and watching his favorite football team, the New England Patriots.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Charlie and Thelma Bond; paternal grandparents, Lamar and Pauline Norton; and father, Douglas Norton.

Mr. Norton is survived by his wife, Leslie Mock Norton; son, Douglas Norton, Jr.; mother, Myrtle Bond Combs; brother, Keith (Kim) Arnold; sister, Denise (Shannon) Arnold Pharris; step-son, Jon (Adair) Grinsted; step-daughter, Whitney Fullerton; beloved granddaughters, Anastasia Norton and Skylar (Harrison) Bennett Buckley; nephews, Brandon Arnold, Judd Arnold, Kent Howard, and Gage Pharris, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Barrancas National Cemetery at 10 a.m.

Prior to the service, the family met at 1 S. Navy Boulevard Pensacola, FL 32507 at 9:30 a.m. to go into Barrancas National Cemetery together.

Alberta Lawson-Johnson
Mrs. Alberta Lawson-Johnson, age 60, of McCullough, Ala., passed away Monday, March 26, 2018 at the University of South Alabama Medical Center in Mobile, Ala. She was born to the late Albert and Elma Lawson. She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church, McCullough, serving as Youth Director and Pastor Aid Assistant.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Vinnie Brown, Elizabeth Brown and Lillie Mae Lee.

Mrs. Lawson-Johnson is survived by her husband of thirty-seven years, Wade Johnson, Jr.; four children, Chief Warrant Officer (CWZ) Derrick (Alielobret) Lawson, Sr. of El Paso, Texas, Kristy (Jeremy) Clark, Lucretia Johnson and Wade Johnson III, all of McCullough; three brothers, Willie (Luverne) Lawson of McCullough, Foster (Linda) Brown of Ga., David (Mary) Lawson of Hollywood, Fla.; nine sisters, Fannie Lawson of Jamaica, N.Y., Annie Brown of Pensacola, Fla., Emma Lee of Newark, N.J., Judy (Ben) Mallard and Gertrude (Marvin) Brown, Sr., all of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Jemethia Ballard of Atmore, Ala., Octavia Lawson Walters of Hollywood, Fla, Patricia (Charles) Johnson of McCullough and Tarji (Thomas) Adams, Sr., of Fayetteville, Ga.; nine grandchildren, Jermey Johnson, MeKell Tention, Deavontae Johnson, Derrick Lawson, Jr., Tatiana Johnson, Alexia Lawson, Zechariah Clark, Zion Clark and Amilya Jemison; Goddaughter, Synethia Shardae Austin; host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of McCullough with Rev. Charles Jones, Pastor officiating. Interment followed in First Baptist Cemetery.

Pallbearers were her nephews, brothers-in-law and friends.

Flower bearers were her friends.

Mildred Harris Fisher
Mrs. Mildred Harris Fisher, age 67, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Mobile Infirmary, Mobile, Ala.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 7, 2018 at True Pillow Ground Holiness Church

Donald Hugh Simmons
Mr. Donald Hugh Simmons, age 69, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2018 in Pensacola, Fla. He was a native of Atmore, Ala., former resident of Cantonment, Fla. and has resided in Flomaton, Ala. for the past fifty years. He was a 1968 graduate of Tate High School. He was a retired farmer, avid bowler, and outdoorsman where he loved to fish and hunt. He attended Sardis Baptist Church.

Mr. Simmons is survived by one sister, Jeane Simmons of Flomaton; one niece, Shauna Henry of Auburn, Ala.; Jordan Henry of Chattanooga, Tenn. and Tyler (Cindy) Henry of Walnut Creek, Calif.; cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Memorial services were held Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Sardis Baptist Church with Rev. William E. Greene officiating.

The family received friends Saturday, April 7, 2018 from 10 until 11 a.m. at Sardis Baptist Church.
