County youth excel at Junior Beef Expo
Two Escambia County young men brought home ribbons in the 60th Alabama Junior Beef Expo (JBE) March 15-17, held inside Teague Arena on the Garrett Coliseum grounds in Montgomery. Colbie English took fifth in the Class 13 Intermediate Division Showmanship competition. Rowdy Rutherford placed sixth in the Class 10 Intermediate Division Showmanship competition. Southeastern Indian Festival April 4-6
Poarch Band of Creek Indians will host its sixth annual Southeastern Indian Festival, a three-day showcase of Native American culture and history, April 4-6 on the PCI reservation. Admission is free for the festival, which will open to the public from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, April 5-6.
