Katie Hadley Hall
Mrs. Katie Hadley Hall, age 88, a native of Perdido, Ala. and a resident of Mobile, Ala., passed away February 20, 2018.

She was preceded in death by her husband William Hall; parents, Clarke and Evie Hadley; two sons, Ephen Hall and Darrell Hall; two sisters, Virginia Hubbard and Mattie Mae Boatwright; brothers, Willie Hadley and Willard Hadley.

Mrs. Hall is survived by one daughter, Trudie (Winston) Hadley; grandchildren, Bobby (Brandy) Hadley, Randy (Amanda) Hall, Janice (David) Whitehead, Jody (Sheryn) Hadley and Jeff (Cynthia) Hall; ten great-grandchildren and one great- great-grandchild; three brothers, William Hadley, Willis Lee Hadley and Wilburn Hadley; three sisters, Hazel Roberts, Joyce Ann Jackson and Dona Johnson and many nieces and nephew.

Funeral services were held Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 2 p.m. from the Perdido Church of God with Bro. Scott Brooks officiating. Burial followed in Lottie Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family received friends Saturday, February 24, 2018 from 12:30 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. at the Perdido Church of God.

Herman Vester “Buddie” Lowery
Mr. Herman Vester “Buddie” Lowery, age 99, of Pensacola, Fla., passed away Sunday, February 18, 2018.

Lowery

He was born in Munson, Fla. and spent his early years in small logging communities in Northwest Florida. He served his country in the U. S. Navy as a Sonar Technician during World War II.

He worked for Hygeia Coca Cola Bottling Company. He was a member of the Poarch Creek Indians and a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Pensacola. Friends and family were always entertained with many of his wonderful stories.

He was preceded in death by his father, Herman S. Lowery; mother, Ida Colbert Lowery; sister, Hermione Ware; granddaughter, Abigail Elizabeth Kuchera and his loving wife, Mary Ethel Lowery.

Mr. Lowery is survived by his daughters, Nan Baggett (O.D.) and Sherrer Kuchera (Chris); a special niece and nephew, Charles and Janice Ware; five grandchildren, Anna Bradham (Darren), Matt Johnson (Jennifer), Christopher Kuchera, Daniel Griffin and Dustin Griffin and eight great-grandchildren; two special God-children, Jessica and Laurel Emerson; a loving caregiver, Frances Powell and close neighbors, David and Sophie Ranney.

The family received friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel.

A graveside service and interment was held at 11 a.m., Friday, February 23, 2018 at Barrancas National Cemetery. The funeral cortege departed the funeral home at 10 a.m. Friday.

Pallbearers were O.D. Baggett, Chris Kuchera, Matt Johnson, Daniel Griffin, Christopher Kuchera and Dustin Griffin.

Elizabeth Ann Johnson
Ms. Elizabeth Ann Johnson, age 71, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Sunday, February 18, 2018 at her residence. She was a barber. She was born in
Monroeville, Ala. to Edward and Myrtis E. Mosley Johnson. She enjoyed the outdoors and planting flowers. She loved the Lord very much and her family
and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Johnson; a son, Christopher Reynolds.

Ms. Johnson is survived by her mother, Myrtis Hall of Atmore; one son, Mike Reynolds of Alaska; one daughter, Brandy Reynolds Wohlers of Prattville, Ala.;
two brothers, Eddie Johnson and LaDon (Annette) Hall, all of Atmore; sister, Teresa Hall of S. C.; six grandchildren, Sidney Wohlers, Cobe Wohlers, Lilly Wohlers, Holly Wohlers, Carmen Reynolds and Matthew Wohlers; four great-grandchildren, Amber Johnson, Keely Mendlesohn, Gabe Brown and Christian Brown.

Funeral services were held Friday, February 23, 2018 at 1 p.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home with Pastor Rob Arrant officiating. Interment followed
Oak Hill Cemetery.

Elizabeth Ann Davison Vaughn
Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Davison Vaughn, age 71, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Friday, February 23, 2018 in Atmore. She was born in Mobile, Ala. to the late Johnie M. and Myrtle Kirchharr Davison. She was a graduate of Escambia County High School and a member of Atmore First Assembly of God.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Myrtle Kirchharr Davison.

Mrs. Vaughn is survived by her husband, Travis J. Vaughn of Atmore; two daughters, Kimberly (John) McCullough of Pineville, Fla. and Julie Hand of Atmore; one step-daughter, Carol Powell and a step-son, Carlton Vaughn all of Cantonment, Fla.; one sister, Catherine (Buddy) Lowrey of Atmore; grandchildren, John Wesley (Hope) of McCullough, Ala., Hannah (Hunter) Milliken, Abby (Cole) Lambert; step-grandchildren, Dustin (Damaris) Vaughn, Roger Vaughn, Jeremy Powell and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Don Davis officiating. Burial followed in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Dustin Vaughn, Roger Vaughn, Jeremy Powell, Derrick Holland, Steve McCullough and Gene Lowrey.

Glenn Roy Henderson
Mr. Glenn Roy Henderson, age 50, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018 in Atmore. He was a truck driver. He was born in Fort Smith, Ark. to Frankie and Ima Gibbs Henderson.

Mr. Henderson is survived by his wife, Deanna Henderson of Atmore; parents, Frankie and Ima Gibbs Henderson; children, Max Hill and Valeen Hill; one brother, Kenny Henderson; two sisters, Lynn Wyatt and Jayde Henderson; seven grandchildren.

Memorial services were held Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 11 a.m. from the United Pentecostal Church of Atmore with Rev. Derek Gobert officiating.

Amelia Gail Melton
Mrs. Amelia Gail Melton, age 68, of Monroeville, Ala., passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Monroe County Hospital.

She was born in Escambia County and had lived in Monroe County since 1989. She worked with the Huddle House as a manager.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Thomas Lindsey and Ophelia Marie Conway Lynam; her daughter, Julia Medvid Turberville.

Mrs. Melton is survived by her daughters, Melissa Medvid Burns and husband Burnie II of Red Oak, Texas and Michelle Medvid Gregson and husband Nick of Atmore, Ala.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Monday, February 19, 2018 at 12:30 p.m. at Monroe Chapel Funeral Home.

The family received friends Monday, February 19, 2018 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Eddie Pipkins Ellis
Mr. Eddie Pipkins Ellis, age 68, of Flomaton, Ala., passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018 in Atmore, Ala. He was a Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic. He was born in Repton, Ala. to the late Ace and Jessie Weaver Ellis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Harry Ellis, Dudley Ellis, Mary Elizabeth Roddam, Alice E. Salter, and Dorothy P. Forte.

Mr. Ellis is survived by his wife, Nancy Capers Ellis of Flomaton; two sons, Ace (Amy) Ellis of Jones, Ala. and Joshua Ellis of Flomaton; two daughters, Kristy (Kristopher) Marshall of Oak Grove, Fla. and Carrie Ellis of Atmore; seven grandchildren, Justice, Jadlyn, Alexis, Aidan, Kaylee, Aceton and Acelyn; one brother, Carl Starrett of Texas.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 11 a.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Hutto and Bro. Johnathon McCullough officiating. Interment followed in Dry Springs Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Justin Agerton, Tommy Pettie, Kris Marshall, Jody Capers, Robert Agerton, John Hunter and Adian Ellis.

Juanita Delois Rothschild Austin
Ms. Juanita Delois Rothschild Austin, age 54, of Atmore, Ala. (McCullough Community) passed away Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Mobile Infirmary, Mobile, Ala. She was a native of Escambia County, Ala.

She was a 1982 graduate of Escambia County High School. She worked at Piggly Wiggly, William F. Green Veteran’s Home in Bay Minette and as a manager at Church’s Chicken in Atmore. She enjoyed shopping, taking pictures, traveling, and attending concerts. She was a member of Mt. Gillead Baptist Church and the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her father, Nathaniel “John” Rothschild (who passed January 30, 2018) and her sister, Emma Rothschild.

Ms. Austin is survived by her daughter, Synethia Austin; her mother, Bertha Rothschild; her nephew, Shaughnessy Rothschild, all of McCullough Community and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Celebration of Life service was held Saturday, March 3, 2018 at l p.m. at Mt. Gillead Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Bryant, Pastor and Rev. Denbray Archie – Eulogist. Interment will follow in Pierce-Rabb Cemetery.

Public viewing was held Friday, March 2, 2018 from 2 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Her remains will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.

Mary Lou Williams
Mrs. Mary Lou Williams, age 69, of Tensaw Community passed away Monday, February 16, 2018 at her residence. She was a native of Baldwin County (Tensaw, Ala.) She worked over forty years at Standard Furniture Co in Bay Minette, Ala.

She was longtime member of Little Zion United Methodist Church where she served as the church secretary, Sunday school teacher, SPPP, and church lay leader. She loved gospel singing and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Williams, Jr.; her daughter, Jackie Watson; her parents, Willie and Eliza Mae James; her brother, Jimmie Lee Johnson.

Mrs. Williams is survived by her children, Terria Williams of Marietta, Ga., Terry Williams of Stone Mountain, Ga., LuKindle (Charles) Smith of Tensaw and Samantha (Robert) Stevens of Bay Minette; fifteen grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Celebration of Life Service was held Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Little Zion United Methodist Church, Tensaw with Rev. Norman Tinsley, Jr. – Pastor and Rev. Leo Campbell – Eulogist. Interment followed in Tensaw Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Charles Abney, Sr., age 66, resident of Michigan, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2018.
