Escambia County Agency on Aging has begun accepting applications for its 2018 Senior Farmers Market Voucher program, which provides those who meet age and income requirements to receive vouchers that may be exchanged for produce or other food items at any designated farmers market in the state.
The vouchers are available on a first-come, first-served basis until all available funds have been expended.
To be eligible for the vouchers, a person must be 60 years of age or older on the day of application. No one under age 60 is eligible. To be eligible on the basis of income, recipients’ gross household income must not exceed the following limits:
* $1,634 monthly for a household of 1
* $2,203 monthly for a household of 2
* $2,772 monthly for a household of 3
* $3,341 monthly for a household of 4
* $3,911 monthly for a household of 5
* $4,480 monthly for a household of 6
Note: For these purposes, a household is defined as a group of related or non-related individuals living together as one economic unit.
