Community Thanksgiving Service set
The Community Thanksgiving Service will be Sunday, November 19, at 6 p.m., at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Brennan Peacock, First United Methodist Church, will bring the message and there will be special music from several churches. Participating churches are Bethel United Methodist, First Baptist, First Presbyterian, First United Methodist, Greater Mount Triumph Missionary Baptist, McRae Street United Methodist, Grace Fellowship, Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist.
Destructive blaze
Flames and smoke pour from a Liberty Street house that was consumed by fire during the earliest hours of Wednesday, Oct. 25. Firefighters from Atmore and Poarch fought the blaze for four hours before finally taming it.
