Carol Wiley Martin
Mr. Carol Wiley Martin, age 78, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2017 in Atmore, Ala. He was a native of Bratt, Fla. and resided in Atmore.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruben and Nettie Martin; brothers, Robert, Shirley, Bernard Ray and Doug and sisters, Margaret Martin and Lillie Goldman.
Mr. Martin is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Joy Kay L. Martin of Atmore; one son, Benjamin (Teresa) Martin of Perdido, Ala.; two daughters, Deanna Martin of Sacramento, Calif. and Jolanda Martin (Tony) Baggett of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; one sister, Shelby Jean Hatcher of Atmore and two grandsons, Blake and Drew.
Graveside services were held Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Serenity Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Marty Sellers officiating.
Pallbearers were Tony Baggett, Drew Baggett, Blake Baggett, Adam Martin, John Ashcraft and Gary Bailey.

Lillian Merle Smith Davis
Mrs. Lillian Merle Smith Davis, age 91, of Davisville, Fla., passed away Sunday, October 29, 2017. She was born in Atmore, Ala. to the late Ernie and Lucy (McElhaney) Smith.
Mrs. Davis is survived by one son, William (Sonny) and wife, Bonnie; two daughters, Eunice (Billy) Edgar and LuCindy Harrison; grandchildren, Billy (Cindy) Davis, Randell (Jackie) Davis, Denny (Tina) Davis, and Tony (Jenny) Davis, Sonja (David) Lambert, James (Sally) Edgar, Michael (Amanda) Edgar, Ollie Edgar, Cary Jordan and Chris Edwards.
Funeral services were held Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in Pine Barron Cemetery.
The family received friends Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Olivette Thames Williams
Mrs. Olivette Thames Williams, age 73, passed away Saturday, October 21, 2017. She was born in Freemanville Community, Atmore, Ala. to the late Joseph and Annie Ruth Thames. She had been employed at Vanity Fair Mills for twenty-five years. Having not finished high school, she did earn her GED. She spent many years caring for her mother and father. She was a life-long member of Mt. Gillead Baptist Church serving in the Gospel Chorus; Order of the Eastern Star, Goodwill Chapter #845.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Teresa Parker Armstrong; brother, Willie F. Thames of Detroit, Mich.
Mrs. Williams is survived by her daughter Rita (Roderick) Gulley of Midfield, Ala. and son, Lee (Tameka) Williams of Covington, La.; grandchildren Korey (Erika), Shantele, Shante (Ezraa), RaSheda, Roderick, Jayla, Darah, Robert, Miracle, Ta’eish, Justice and Randy: great-grandchildren, Taliyah, Jada, Jaden, Davion, Jazmyne, Quamar, Kori (her Koko), Ziah, Kiah, Nylaa, Ezraa Jr., Kordarrius and Sherrod; sister, Fannie (Welton) Jobe, Gertrude Davis and Esther-Sharpe-Church, all of Nashville, Tenn.; brothers, Joseph (Janice) Thames of Atmore, Ernest (Pearl) Thames and Malachi (Roslyn) Thames of Baltimore, Md., Rufus (Jackie) Thames of Brewton, Ala.
Funeral services were held at Mt. Gillead Baptist Church at 1 p.m. with Dr. Kelvin Williams, presiding and Rev. Dwight Miller, Sr., messenger of strength. Interment followed in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers were her nephews.
Flower bearers were Class of 1962 and OES Goodwill Chapter #845.

Miriam Luker Milliken
Mrs. Miriam Luker Milliken, age 90, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Monday, October 30, 2017. She worked many years with Judge Hugh Rozelle and later as the first female Sergeant at Holman Prison. She loved her Lord and was an active and long-time member of Presley Street Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ezell and Madora Luker; husband, Vincent Milliken; brother, Leo Luker and sister, Mary McMath.
Mrs. Luker is survived by her children, Larry Milliken, Sr., Alan Milliken and Rhonda (Butch) Kinney; sister, Lois Amerson; grandchildren, Larry (Lisa) Milliken, Jr., Jennifer (Dennis) Keller, Mark Milliken, Roger Milliken and Allyson (Nicholas) Moscond; great-grandchildren, Hunter (Hannah) Milliken, Sara Milliken, Jackson and Darby Moscond; great-great-grandchildren, Tyson, Levi and Chase Milliken and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Friday, November 3, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Presley Street Baptist Church. Interment followed at Oak Hill Cemetery.
The family received friends Friday, November 3, 2017 from noon until 1 p.m. at Presley Street Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Presley Street Baptist Church.
