Downtown Flomaton will be filled with good food, entertainment, arts and crafts, model train displays and an antique car show Saturday, Sept. 23, for the annual Railroad Junction Day.
The day will kick off at 7:30 a.m. with a 5-K run and walk sponsored by the Youth Student Ministry of First Baptist Church. Registration is $30 and the race will begin and end at the church. For more information, call the church office at 251-296-2453.
The antique car show will be held next to First Baptist Church with no registration fee. For more information to enter the show, contact Johnnie Allen at 251-253-3312.
A new addition to Railroad Junction Day will be a Pretty Baby Contest, open to boys and girls ages 0-5. The event is set for 9:15 a.m. Entry fee is $20. Winners will be determined by a random drawing with multiple gift certificates for the participants. For more information on the Pretty Baby Contest, contact Leslie Wedgeworth on Facebook.
Following the 5-K race, opening ceremonies will be held at 9 a.m.
Entertainment kicks off at 10:30 a.m. with Strictly Isbell, followed by Heather Leonard’s Dance Works, and will wrap up with Ricky Crook.
Food booths, arts and crafts and children’s activities will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
WPFL 105.1 radio will be live on scene and is offering a $1,000 give-away during the event.
