Mid-August target date for completion of U.S. 31 paving
Alabama Department of Transportation officials are anticipating by mid-August the completion of two separate ongoing projects that will eventually provide a new surface for both lanes of the portion of U.S. 31 that runs through western Escambia County and Atmore and into the middle of Flomaton. Mourning Robert Thrower
An untimely death brings communities and people together. Such was the case last week when the Poach Band of Creek Indians was joined by surrounding communities in mourning the loss of Robert Thrower. Thrower, the Tribal Historic Preservation Officer, was well known in this area and throughout Indian Country.
