Celebrity Waiter benefits Habitat

David’s was packed
for the event.

Folks were packed into David’s Catfish Monday night, April 17, for First National Bank & Trust’s annual Celebrity Waiter event. Crawfish and shrimp were served in abundance as waiters worked hard for tips.

Proceeds benefitted Escambia County Habitat for Humanity, and Habitat Executive Director Lisa Tindell was on hand.

“Thank you could never express our gratitude for being chosen as the recipient organization for this year’s Celebrity Waiter event,” Tindell said Tuesday. “The staff of First National Bank and Trust did an excellent job of organizing the beautiful event. I was pleased with the number of people who came to support the event that will help make it possible for us to create a new home for a family in the Atmore community.”

Habitat has plans to renovate a home on East Craig Street, beginning in the next few weeks – and they will be looking for volunteers to help with the project.

The waiters for this year’s event were Angela Leachman, Taylor Helton Lee, Kevin McGhee, Natalie Rodgers, Brandon Smith, Mike Stacey, Mayor Jim Staff, Lisa Swift, Nancy Williams and Haley Huskey, and Sara Cunningham and David Strawbridge.

One of coveted awards is the Best Decorated Table … and the winner is Nancy Williams and Haley Huskey. They used upside down hard hats for tips, a replica of a house and scaled down construction site items.
