An Atmore man remained in the Escambia County Jail this week after his February 2 arrest on several charges related to his alleged sexual misconduct with a child.
According to a press release from the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, Sonney Wayne Pruett, 21, of an Estates Lane address, was arrested after a four-month joint investigation by the Escambia Co. Sheriff’s Office and the Child Advocacy Center led to the issuance of warrants against him.
Pruett is being held under $100,000 bond on one count each of enticing a child, indecent exposure and sexual abuse of a child under the age of 12.
Authorities would not divulge whether the child was a male or female, or whether he or she was a relative, neighbor or child of a friend.
This case is still under investigation, and anyone with any information regarding the alleged wrong-doing is urged to contact the sheriff’s office, by phone at 251-809-2154 or through the sheriff’s office website, escambiacountysheriffal.org.
