Area students participate in All-State Choir
March 7 through 9, several students from the area participated in the Alabama All-State Choir Festival at Samford University in Birmingham. Any choir student (in the entire state) can try out to make this choir in November. Generally, one out of four actually make the choir. Tops in math
Escambia County Middle School teachers Marsha Wilson and Rhecy Currie had the top classroom in the Imagine Math: Alabama Math Cup contest. Wilson’s classroom passed at least 50+ math lessons on Imagine Math during the month of February. Her fifth-grade math class will receive a $50 e-gift card to Pizza Hut. ECMS Black history essay winners named
Students at Escambia County Middle School participated in a Black History essay contest sponsored by The Concerned Citizens of Atmore. Sandra Gray recognized the winners of the essay contest at ECMS’ Black History program Monday. February 25. ECMS artists to display work in county show
Escambia County Middle School recently held a school art contest. Winners were selected from various categories and their artwork will be sent to the Escambia County Art Show for display and final judging. ECMS student places in state event
Akyrah Bradley, an eighth-grader at Escambia County Middle School, recently placed third in a statewide Bicentennial event. The annual State Superintendent’s Visual Arts Exhibits and Bicentennial Celebration is being held February and March 2019.
