Pepsi football toss

During the high school football season, the local Pepsi Cola Bottling Company awards $500 college scholarships to seniors in the Pepsi Cola Football Toss. The first toss of the season in this area was held at Escambia Academy Friday night with Fred Flavors, left, and Gabby McGhee, right, participating. EA wins season opener

The Escambia Academy Cougars faced two opponents in the season opener Friday night, August 18 – the flu and Abbeville Christian Academy. Several players were out sick last week and were able to practice only on Thursday. The Cougars apparently triumphed over both opponents, beating Abbeville 39 to 18. The Escambia Academy Cougars participated in the SECIS (Southeastern Commission of Independent Schools) Kickoff Classic at the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery Saturday, August 12. EA plays Crenshaw in 7-on-7

The Escambia Academy Cougars played Crenshaw Academy in a 7-on-7 at EA Wednesday, July 12. Although an official score was not kept, EA made more touchdowns than Crenshaw.
