Atmore woman injured in crash
A two-vehicle collision that occurred December 29 at a rural intersection sent an Atmore woman to a local hospital. The crash, between a Nissan Maxima and a Honda Accord, happened around 7:15 p.m. at the intersection of Jack Springs Road and Woods Road. Escambia Academy hosted the New Year Classic Basketball Tournament December 29 and 30. EA won over Walton High School (Florida) 80-79 when EA’s Fred Flavors made a buzzer-beater 3-point basket. Man tries to run down officers
An Atmore man, initially suspected of stealing several items from a local business, remained in the Escambia County Detention Center this week, charged with attempting to run down two Atmore police officers who were trying to arrest him on the theft charge.
