Stomp the Yard Saturday

Houston Avery Park will come alive with the squeals and laughter of children on Saturday, November 4, when Destiny Worship Center presents its 11th Annual Stomp the Yard event. Community Thanksgiving Service set

The Community Thanksgiving Service will be Sunday, November 19, at 6 p.m., at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Brennan Peacock, First United Methodist Church, will bring the message and there will be special music from several churches. Participating churches are Bethel United Methodist, First Baptist, First Presbyterian, First United Methodist, Greater Mount Triumph Missionary Baptist, McRae Street United Methodist, Grace Fellowship, Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist.

Bicentennial Hayride cancelled for WSD

The 200 Alabama Bicentennial event planned for Williams Station Day has been cancelled. The hayride was to take place at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and take folks on a tour of historic sites around downtown. Atmore committee chairman Jennifer Sanders said the hayride will be rescheduled.

Haunted House 2017 The YMCA and Greater Escambia Council for the Arts are sponsoring Haunted House 2017, Friday, Saturday, and Monday, October 27, 28, and 30. Pioneer Day set in Grove Hill

To help celebrate the state’s bicentennial, the Clarke County Museum will host a bigger Pioneer Day with longer hours. The 18th annual event will be Saturday, Oct. 28, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the museum in Grove Hill. The free living history event features costumed re-enactors demonstrating early life in southwest Alabama. The Willie Overton Memorial Tractor & Engine show will be another featured event.
