If it’s Spring and it’s near the end of the school year, it must be time for Field Day – and it was just that Friday, May 5, at Rachel Patterson Elementary School. Love Run

Shown are some of the participants in the 2nd Annual 5K Love Run, sponsored by Single Parents Raising a Gift (S.P.R.A.G.) held April 29 in Brewton. Carolyn Bradley, founder and CEO of the Monroeville-based organization, said the event was a success due in part to the contributions of Alan and Dale Ash and the Pepsi Cola Bottling Company in Atmore.

Mayfest draws thousands

Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce’s 44th Mayfest celebration held Saturday, May 6, at Tom Byrne Park, was a huge hit.
