Four students from across the county competed in a countywide spelling bee Wednesday, February 8. The top speller was Jaelyn Bloodsworth who will compete in the state bee March 11 in Montgomery. Atmore native appointed state AG
Governor Robert Bentley announced on Friday, February 10, the appointment of Steven Marshall, former Marshall County District Attorney, as the new Alabama Attorney General. Marshall will fill the vacancy left by Luther Strange upon his appointment to the Unites States Senate. Marshall, who was born in Atmore, is the nephew of Atmore resident Nancy Everette Helton.
