Powerlifting competition set for Feb. 25

Local men, women and children have a chance to show off their strength and physical abilities in order to help Atmore Area YMCA strengthen its physical structure. A powerlifting competition will be held on Saturday, Feb. 25, at the YMCA’s 501 South Pensacola Avenue headquarters. Lions Club offering two scholarships

Atmore Lions Club is partnering with Alabama Lion Opportunity Youth Fund Scholarship to offer a scholarship to build and strengthen leadership, relationships, and power to serve among the youth in Alabama. Rice honored

At the Alabama Judges’ winter meeting, Escambia County’s Presiding Circuit Judge Bert Rice received an award for completing 300 hours of judicial teaching and education. Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Lyn Stuart is shown awarding Judge Rice a certificate for such service.

The Escambia Academy varsity baseball team took on the Escambia Alumni team Saturday, February 11. The final score was 14-14.
