Rough landing
No injuries were reported when an unidentified Baldwin County man piloted his 1968 Beechcraft V-35A aircraft to an emergency landing on the belly of its cabin at Atmore Municipal Airport around 4 p.m. Friday, May 14, after the plane’s landing gear reportedly failed to engage. The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board will reportedly conduct an investigation into the near crash.
City grocery giveaway this Friday
News Staff Report The grocery giveaway, jointly sponsored by Pensacola Caring Hearts and the City of Atmore and originally announced as taking place on Saturday, will actually be held this Friday, May 21.The food distribution is set to begin at 10 a.m. in Houston Avery Park, located at 200 Park Drive. Johnson Special to Atmore News Vince Johnson of Flomaton has been elected vice president of the Alabama Rural Electric Association Board of Directors.
