Carolyn S. Smith

Smith

Mrs. Carolyn S. Smith, age 88, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2021.  She was born in Atmore to the late Jackson Lafayette and Thelma Viola Bratcher Sharpless.  She was very talented at cross stitching and loved baking. She was a member of McRae United Methodist Church. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bruce Smith; her siblings, Waldine Sharpless Argroves, Joyce Sharpless Hogg and Carlton Prescott Sharpless. 

Mrs. Smith is survived by her son, Bruce Ladon Smith of Atmore; her daughter, Anita Mancil of Atmore; her brothers, Jack (Betty) Sharpless of Robinsonville, Ala. and Ronnie (Margaret) Sharpless of Gautier, Miss.; her sisters, Lynn Sharpless Fralick of Walnut Hill, Fla. and Brenda Sharpless (David) Cruce of Loganville, Ga.; her grandchildren, Scottie (Dodi) Smith and their children, Cain (Haley) Smith, Britni and Hannah Smith; Emma, Legend, Brooklyn, Paityn and Annistyn, Kelli (Curt) Houston, Valerie (Waylon) Rolin, April (Billy) Stewart and Crystal Mancel; sixteen great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren and many family and friends. 

Funeral services were held Thursday, May 13, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kevin Fralick officiating. Interment followed at Miller Cemetery in Little Rock, Ala. 

The family received friends Thursday, May 13, 2021 from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Lelia Frances Hayles

Mrs. Lelia Frances Hayles, age 88, passed away Monday, May 10, 2021 in Atmore, Ala. She was a lifelong residence of the Atmore area, but a native of Moyeville, Ala. She was a master gardener and loved the outside working with her plants. She attended the Poarch Community Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Ruby Burkett; seven siblings, Susie Mae Burkett Penton, Mose “Buddy” Burkett, Shefford “Shep” Burkett, Rochele Burkett, Charles Burkett, Joseph “Joe” Burkett and Dempsey “Demp” Burkett.

Mrs. Hayles is survived by her husband Edison Hayles of Poarch, Ala.; one son, Kimble N. Davis of Poarch; one daughter, Gaye Davis King of Poarch; two brothers, Robert Burkett and Arthur Burkett; five sisters, Reatha Burkett Emmons, Essie Burkett Amadeo, Mary Burkett Daniels, Edwina Burkett Calloway and Natasha Burkett Satterwhite; two grandchildren, Jonathon Taylor and Justin Taylor, both of Fairhope, Ala.; four great-grandchildren, Jonathon Taylor Jr, Selby- Marie Taylor, Henry Taylor and William Taylor.

Funeral services were held Thursday, May 13, 2021 at 3 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home LLC. with Chaplain Gabe Hallaway officiating. Burial will follow at Enon Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family received friends Thursday, May 13, 2021 from 2 p.m. until service time at 3 p.m. at Petty- Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes LLC.

Jeanie Renee Lambeth

Mrs. Jeanie Renee Lambeth, age 52, passed away Saturday, May 8, 2021 in Bay Minette, Ala.

She was resident of Pine Grove, Ala. and has resided in Perdido, Ala. for the past fifteen years. She loved her family and her grandbabies.

She was preceded in death by parents, Donald Lee Thomas and Eudora Yvonne Broughton and granddaughter, Gracie Mosley.
Mrs. Lambeth is survived by her husband, Kenny Lambeth; one son, Jefferson Boutwell of Mauk, Ga.; two daughters, Heather (Jimmy) Lawson and Dora Boutwell, all of Mauk, Ga.; one brother, Donald Ray (Vanessa) Thomas of Perdido; one sister, Becky (William) Lister of Atmore, Ala.; sixteen grandchildren, Roxy Lawson, Cheyanna Lawson, Randy Lawson, Hannah Lawson, Natlie Lawson, Alyssa Lawson, Jimmy Lawson III, Haven Long, Billanna Mosley, Jefferson Boutwell, Billy Mosley, Madison Boutwell, Harmony Green, Hayden Lambeth, Emelyn Lambeth and Kennison Lambeth and other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 14, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Dean’s Chapel with Sister Helen Stewart officiating.
The family received friends Thursday, May 13, 2021 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Dean Holiness Church.

Ned Lee Bishop Jr.

Mr. Ned Lee Bishop Jr., age 40, passed away Sunday, May 9, 2021 in Vidor, Texas. He was resident of Atmore, Ala. and had resided in Vidor for the past four years. He loved motorcycles, four wheelers, working hard and anything to keep him busy. He had the best sense of humor and kept everyone laughing everywhere he went.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ned Lee Bishop Sr.
Mr. Bishop is survived by his mother, Lillie Mae Casey of Atmore; three sons, Treygan McGhee, Chase Bishop and Talin Bishop, all of Atmore; three daughters, Madison Rainwater of Augusta, Ga., Scarlett Hayles and Olivia Hayles, both of Atmore; four brothers, Jimmy (Kimberly) Casey of Pace, Fla.; Terry (Jennifer) Casey and Jerry Casey, both of Atmore,  and Joseph (Christy) Casey of Flomaton, Ala.; three sisters, Lisa (Danny) Flowers of Bratt, Fla. Tina Casey and Linda Casey, both of Atmore; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Sunday, May 16, 2021 at 3 p.m. at Petty – Eastside Chapel with Pastor Windell Hadley officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery.
The family received friends Sunday, May 16, 2021 from 2 p.m. until service time at 3 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home LLC.
Pallbearers were Treygan McGhee, Chase Bishop, Anthony Rolin, Jeremy McGhee, Norman Lambert and Talin Bishop.

Terri Barnhill Watkins

Mrs. Terri Barnhill Watkins, age 59, passed away Saturday, May 15, 2021. She was born in Atmore, Ala. to Dillard Wayne and Shirley Jean White Barnhill. She was a proud member of Poarch Band of Creek Indians. She was a Dispatcher with PCI Tribal Police and later became an Auditor with the Tribal Gaming Commission. 

She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Jean White Barnhill and her brother, Roger Barnhill. 

Mrs. Watkins is survived by her father, Dillard Wayne Barnhill; her husband, William Scott Watkins; her children, Jonathon McKinley and Tiffani Watkins Stoll (Brian); her siblings, Ronald (Rocky) Barnhill; Michael Barnhill; Melissa Barnhill Ellis (Phillip) and Madonna Barnhill; her special, loving Aunt Pug and her grandsons, Karson, Kaicen, Kannon, Kendall and MJ. 

Funeral service will be held Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Trevor Daughtry officiating.  Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Atmore. 

Active pallbearers will be Buzzy Jordan, Travis Daughtry, David Gehman, Jerry Gehman, James Terry Barnhill and Fred Barnhill. 

The family will receive friends Thursday, May 20, 2021 from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Carl Eugene Steadham

Mr. Carl Eugene Steadham, age 80, passed away Thursday, May 13, 2021 in Bay Minette, Ala.
He was raised up in Chumuckla, Fla. and has resided in Bay Minette, Ala. for the past thirty years. He was a lifelong brick mason who mastered the art of brick masonry.

He was preceded in death by his parents, H.C. “Bub” Steadham and Lucile Steadham; his beloved wife (Sweetheart), Flora Kelley Steadham; his son, Tracy Steadham; brothers, Clyde Steadham and Winston Steadham, two sisters, Virginia McKelvain, Barbara Jean Levins and many other family members.
Mr. Steadham is survived by one son, Stacy “Pete” (Christy) Steadham of Bay Minette; two daughters, Kathy Kelley Hayes (Charles Hall) of Bay Minette; and (devoted and loving caregiver), Rita Kelley (Chadwick) Plank of Newburgh, Ind.; one brother, Charles (Myra) Steadham of Atmore; four sisters, Lillian (Roy) Ward, Annie Ruth (Tink) Kelley, Dorothy (Tommy) Owens and Amelia Steadham; seven grandchildren, Joseph Cody Hayes, Chloe Plank, Leann Steadham, Wesley (Carissa) Steadham, Cory (Caylen) Steadham, Casey (Victoria) Steadham and Courtney Steadham; four great- grandchildren, Emerson, Cora, Carter and Callen and many nieces, nephew other relatives and friends.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. at Bay Minette Cemetery with Elder Chadwick Plank officiating. Burial followed at Bay Minette Cemetery.
The family received friends Tuesday, May 18, 2021 from 10:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Adrian Johnson, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Monday, May 10, 2021 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Fla.
