Hospitals, nursing homes still under mask mandates
While the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced May 13 that people fully vaccinated for COVID-19 may go maskless in most places, Alabama’s nursing homes and hospitals are still under federal mask requirements. Pensacola Sports held its annual Senior Scholar Athlete Awards program Tuesday, May 11, at Olive Baptist Church in Pensacola. There were 227 senior student athletes nominated from Escambia (Fla.) and Santa Rosa county schools. Meredith McGhee, Northview High School, was selected as the overall individual sports winner for girls’ golf. She received a one-year renewable scholarship from Pensacola State College. Two-vehicle crash
Alabama State Troopers along with Atmore and Poarch fire and police departments responded to a two-vehicle accident early last Wednesday morning, May 12, on Jack Springs Road and Woods Road in the Freemanville community.
