Arby’s of Atmore and its franchisee, Beavers’ Inc., are the subject of a federal lawsuit that was filed by the the Equal Opportunity Employment Commission on behalf of several teenage females who claimed they were sexually harassed by a former team leader.
The suit, filed Friday in federal court in Montgomery, alleges that the Atmore fast-food establishment hired a team leader trainee in May 2016 who repeatedly pressured young female employees to have sex with him.
The team leader also allegedly used graphic language, followed some of the female employees home and deliberately touched one in an “unwelcome sexual manner.”
The filing also contends that some employees and customers complained about the harassment to supervisors and managers, but Arby’s took no action for several months. The team leader was not disciplined until he physically injured one of the victims, the suit alleges.
