It’s time.
Williams Station Day is this Saturday, October 28. Once again, Atmore will be known for a day as Williams Station, as proclaimed by Mayor Jim Staff that morning, and citizens and visitors will celebrate the city’s heritage.
This is the 26th year for the celebration, and while there have been some changes through the years, much has remained the same.
Juried and non-juried art still draw artists and shoppers from around the region. Kids and adults still like to ride the W.S.R.R. little train. And the hay bales in front of the main stage still provide good seats for entertainment (and rest) throughout the day.
In this issue you’ll find a special section devoted to Williams Station Day. We tried to include as much as we could while meeting our deadline. We did find out later that Mr. Tim Casson with his antique engines may be on site, and we understand he’s bringing some new displays this year.
New this year is the Alabama Bicentennial hayride tour at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Please read the article in the section and plan to catch one of the rides. Should be interesting.
A complete schedule is included in the section, so you won’t miss a thing.
See you there.
