Florida’s 2017 Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday will begin at 12:01 a.m. this Friday, August 4, and will end at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, August 6.
During the sales tax holiday period, qualifying items, including certain school supplies, clothing items, footwear, certain accessories, and personal computers and certain computer-related accessories purchased for noncommercial home or personal use will be exempt from state sales taxes.
Some of the exempt items:
Clothing items, up to $60 each.
Shoes, up to $60 per pair.
School supplies, including pens, pencils, erasers, rulers and glue, up to $15. (Does not include items such as staplers and computer paper.)
Tax-free purchases must be made at a retail store. Sales tax will still apply to purchases made in theme parks, entertainment complexes, hotels and airports.
