The following felony arrests were reported by officers of the Atmore Police Department (APD) during the period January 18-26, 2025:
Savion Martin

Martin

Martin, 22, was jailed January 26 after police responded to a report from a citizen who learned from FaceTime that a local woman was being held against her will after having been physically assaulted.
The incident occurred around 10:25 a.m. at a Harris Street residence. When APD officers arrived, they spoke through the front door to a male, later identified as Martin, who refused to open up and let them in.
Officers learned from the person with whom the victim had spoken on the iPhone feature that the victim appeared to be injured. When officers heard crying and pleas for help from inside the residence, they forced entry and took Martin into custody.
Reports indicate the victim was severely injured and was taken by ambulance to Atmore Community Hospital for treatment.
Police also learned that Martin, who has prior convictions for domestic violence, had forcefully taken the victim’s phone to prevent her from calling for help and that he was in possession of a firearm.
Martin is charged with one count each of second-degree domestic violence assault, obstructing government operations, first-degree unlawful imprisonment, being a certain person forbidden to possess a firearm, and interference with a domestic violence emergency call.
He was processed into the Escambia County Detention Center (ECDC), where he remained early Monday, January 27.
Randy Weeks

Weeks

City police arrested Weeks on January 20 when officers were dispatched to the Ramey’s grocery store parking lot, just off Church Street, where dispatchers had relayed a report of “someone in the trunk of a vehicle.”
According to police reports, officers arrived on the scene around 11:50 a.m. and contacted the vehicle owner, who was uncooperative. Officers also noted that narcotics were “in plain view” inside the vehicle.
As the policemen were preparing to conduct a probable cause search, Weeks “pushed the back seat down and began crawling out of the trunk” in an attempt to escape. He was taken into custody without further incident.
The vehicle search turned up several grams of methamphetamine, kratom, clonazepam (used to control epileptic seizures and panic disorder) and alprazolam (used to treat anxiety disorders and panic disorder), as well as items used to ingest narcotics.
Weeks was booked into the ECDC on three counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. He remained in the county lockup Monday morning, January 27.
Byron Fisk

Fisk

Fisk, 54, of Pendleton, S.C., was jailed January 23 on a felony drug possession charge after police were called to Express Mart #6 on North Main Street around 5:55 a.m. by a store clerk who reported that a male had been “asleep at the gas pumps for several hours.”
Officers made contact with Fisk, who “appeared to be under the influence,” and asked for consent to search his vehicle. The search yielded more than two dozen grams of synthetic cannabis (Spice) and items used to ingest narcotics.
Fisk was booked into the Escambia County Detention Center (ECDC) on one count each of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. A January 27 check of the jail’s inmate roster shows he is no longer in the facility.
Stephanie Book

Book

The 52-year-old Pensacola, Fla. woman was arrested January 20 on a felony drug possession charge after a city policeman pulled over a vehicle traveling along North Main Street without a license plate.
As the officer talked with Book, the driver, he noted that she “seemed to be under the influence and was acting suspiciously.” He requested a K9 officer. The K9 detected an illicit substance in the vehicle, and police conducted a probable cause search.
The search turned up a small amount of methamphetamine and items used to ingest narcotics, so Book was booked into the county jail on one count each of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
She was no longer listed on the ECDC inmate roster on Monday, January 27.
Sharie Congo

Congo

Congo, 47 and a resident of Huntsville, was arrested January 19 after the vehicle she was driving was blue-lighted because its taillights weren’t working.
The traffic stop took place around 7:20 p.m. on U.S. 31. As the APD officer talked with Congo, the driver, he “observed signs that Congo seemed to be under the influence.” A K9 unit was called to the scene; the animal “alerted” on the vehicle, and a probable cause search was conducted.
Police found more than two grams of methamphetamine, a small amount of marijuana, and items used to ingest narcotics. Congo was jailed on one count each of possession of a controlled substance, first-degree possession of marijuana (due to prior second-degree possession conviction), possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while license is revoked or suspended.
Congo was no longer listed on the ECDC inmate roster early Monday, January 27.
Sherry Rudolph

Rudolph

The Atmore woman, 36, was arrested January 18 after police who conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling along Brown Street, determined she was wanted by Escambia County, Fla. authorities for violating the probation she received after a fraud conviction.
The incident was logged at 12:45 p.m., when Rudolph’s vehicle was pulled over for an unspecified moving violation. When the officer ran a computer check on her driver’s license, he found out she was the subject of the arrest warrant.
Rudolph was processed into the ECDC on a charge of being a fugitive from justice. She remained in the local jail on Monday, January 27, awaiting extradition to Florida.
