Atmore woman jailed after stabbings at park

An Atmore woman, 21-year-old Darianna Mona Seltzer, was arrested August 15 after two women told Atmore police Seltzer had stabbed them.
Atmore Police Department Sgt. Darrell McMann reported that the stabbing incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on August 14.
Officers responded to Houston Avery Park in reference to a disturbance but found no disturbance when they arrived. When officers left the park, one of them drove up on a disturbance at the intersection of East Sunset Drive and Harris Street.
Several vehicles left the area, and an officer conducted a traffic stop on one of them. The officer discovered that one of the vehicle’s occupants had been stabbed, and a second victim had also been stabbed.
Both victims said Seltzer had stabbed them, and they provided a description of her vehicle. She was located a short time later and taken into custody.
Seltzer is charged with two counts of second-degree assault, a Class C felony. She was released on bond August 17.
Other felony arrests of local residents, or of out-of-town residents arrested by Atmore police on felony charges during the period August 9-18:
*An August 11 traffic stop by Atmore police resulted in the arrest of a Century, Fla. man on felony drug charges.
Around 11:30 p.m., an APD officer pulled over a vehicle driven along Alabama 21 because of improper lighting. The officer “noticed some strange behavior” as he talked with the driver, 50-year-old Jeffie Dewitt Morris.
Meanwhile, An Escambia County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit stopped to assist, and the K-9 “alerted” on the vehicle. A subsequent search yielded a green, leafy substance that was identified by Morris as synthetic cannabis (Spice), as well as several cigarillos blunts containing a green, leafy substance that field-tested positive for marijuana, a spoon with a crystal-like residue that field-tested positive for methamphetamine, and a glass pipe with a crystal-like residue that field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
County jail records show that Morris, who was released on bond August 14, is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count each of possession of drug paraphernalia and improper lighting.
*A Jay, Fla. man was arrested August 14 by Atmore police on felony and misdemeanor drug charges
Christopher Glenn Davidson, 46, is charged with one count each of possession of a controlled substance and second-degree possession of marijuana. ECDC records show he was released on bond August 16.
*Escambia County (Ala.) sheriff’s deputies arrested a 61-year-old Atmore man, Eugene Leslie, August 16, following a domestic incident.
Leslie, who was released on bond August 17, is charged with one count of domestic violence-strangulation or suffocation.
*Casey Michelle Baecher, 46, of Atmore was arrested August 9 by Baldwin County sheriff’s deputies.
She remained in the Baldwin County Jail early Tuesday, August 22, charged with one count each of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and public intoxication.
*An Atmore man, 33-year-old Matthew Joel Goven, was arrested August 11 by deputies with the Escambia County (Fla.) Sheriff’s Office.
Goven is charged with one count of felony battery and two misdemeanor violations. Battery is a first-degree misdemeanor in Florida but becomes a third-degree felony if the suspect has a prior conviction for battery, aggravated battery or felony battery.
Goven was released from the Escambia County Jail August 18 after total bonds of $7,250 were posted on his behalf.
*Latasha White, 39, of Atmore was arrested August 17 by Atmore police on a felony drug possession charge.
White, who was released on bond, is charged with one count each of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.
