Main Street Atmore’s award-winning Celebrity Waiter Shrimp Boil fundraiser, held Monday night, August 21, at David’s Catfish House, was reportedly as much a success as past Celebrity Waiter events have been.
Main Street Atmore Executive Director Shinora Redmond was in a meeting Tuesday morning and could not be reached for comment on the annual event, proceeds from which will help fund various projects planned by the local Main Street affiliate.
Diners at eight tables paid $35 each to enjoy a meal of shrimp, sausage, boiled corn and potatoes, and drink. They also tipped their waiters and waitresses, generating more revenue.
According to the Main Street website, the list of celebrity waiters and waitresses included Natalie Rodgers, Sara Smith, Shawn Lassiter, Becca Smith, Ken Sessions, Candace Wooten, Brandon Smith, Sharon Smith, Mallorie Shirley, Jocelyn Drew, Jennifer White, Sydney McGhee and John Brantley.
Sheilo Faircloth, Cyndi Stacey, Ruthie Gulley-Stephens and Arica Selzer were also part of the mix, as were Emilee Craft, Jodi James, Nancy Williams, Haley Huskey, Gia Langham, J. Ross, and Lillie Johnson and Yellow Hats Society members.
McGhee and Brantley were voted best-dressed servers.
