Carolyn Williams Lambeth
Mrs. Carolyn Williams Lambeth, age 88, passed away Monday, July 31, 2023 in Pollard, Ala. She was born in Colquitt, Ga. and has resided most of her life in Pollard. She was a member of Catawba Springs Baptist Church and loved her Sunday School Class. She worked in banking for over twenty years in Brewton, Ala. and served as Mayor of Pollard for seventeen years. She loved sitting around crocheting, enjoyed going fishing, camping and bird watching. She grew up as an Auburn Fan and later in life transformed into an Alabama Fan. She loved going on church trips, such as Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and other places. She also enjoyed visiting with family and friends in other states.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Julian Lamar (Pearsie Eveline) Williams; husband, Charles Hubert Lambeth; one grandson, Jonathan Eric Buesing; four sisters, Jacklyn Newman, Gloria Jean Young, Darlene Michaels, Joyce Swallows; two brothers, Jerry Williams and Melvin Williams.
Mrs. Lambeth is survived by her two sons, Tony Lambeth of Pollard and Charles (Jamie) Lambeth of Flomaton, Ala.; one daughter, Mary (John) Buesing of Pollard; three sisters, Joelyn Crosby and Peggy (Bobby) Clem, all of Frostproof, Fla. and Syble Charbanau of Bartow, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Rachel, Carl, Brandy, Valerie, Nathan, Sarah, Christopher; eleven great-grandchildren, Austin, Tennisson, Luke, Amberlyn, Tucker, Dylan, Alivia, Kenna, Kelly, Jamison, Ryland; one great-great-grandchild, Olivia; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 4, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Catawba Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at Pollard Cemetery.

Cassandra Lee Beals
Mrs. Cassandra Lee Beals, age 48, passed away Monday, July 24, 2023 in Brewton, Ala. She was born in the Philippines. As a young girl she traveled many places with her father being in the military. She enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts, making floral arrangements, watching Crime Scene television shows, putting puzzles together, crossword puzzles and growing succulents.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Fredrick (Brenda) Jones.
Mrs. Beals is survived by her husband of twenty-four years, Donald Beals of Flomaton, Ala.: one son, David (Kenda) Jones of Brewton; one daughter, Lisa (Chris) Moore of Robinsonville, Ala.; two brothers, Ernie (Jeanette) of Clearwater, Fla. and Mark Jones of Loxley, Ala..

Sylvia Snyder Svendsgaard
Mrs. Sylvia Snyder Svendsgaar, age 83, of Chapel Hill, N.C. passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2023. She was born in Huxford, Ala. She attended Auburn University. Living the navy life with her husband took her to thirteen locations. Settling in Chapel Hill, N.C. never took away her Lower Alabama roots. The family spent many a summer and Christmas in Atmore. Her continued traveling led her to new places world-wide. She played piano and sang with beautiful grace, joined a tap dance team in her 60s, nearly bowled a perfect game, and had a lovely golf swing. Above all, she loved her family and took so much pride in her seven grandsons. Our “Sissy” was a loving and caring grandmother, mother, and wife, and a special friend to so many.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Earle Snyder and Minnie Keller Snyder.
Mrs. Svendsgaard is survived by her husband, David John Svendsgaard of Chapel Hill; three children, Denise Williamson of Carrboro, N.C., David (Butch) Svendsgaard of Chapel Hill and Lisa Krise of Raleigh, N.C.; seven grandsons, Owen and Elias Williamson, Jack, Harry and Gus Svendsgaard, Trey and Griffin Krise.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday, August 13, 2023. For additional information or for service details, please reach out to the family directly. Interment of her ashes will take place at a future date at the Naval Academy Columbarium.

Mr. Wintford Lamar Dortch, age 70, passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2023 in Century, Fla. He was born in Atmore, Ala. and has resided in Atmore and the surrounding area most of his life. He was a member of Grace Fellowship Church. He was a former employee of Masland Carpets and Southern Aluminum.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carlos Bernard Dortch and Juanita Hilda Rigby; one daughter, Tara Dortch Nelson and one brother, Donald Edward Dortch.
Mr. Dortch is survived by his three brothers, Duane (Esther) Dortch of Flomaton, Ala., Ronnie (Mary) Dortch of East Brewton, Ala. and Winston (Lynn) Dortch of Cantonment, Fla.; three grandchildren, Amy Morris, Cierra Caraway, Dallas Rivers; seven great-grandchildren, Serenity Phillips, Chandler Rivers, Ella Phillips, Rowynn Rivers, Maliyah Phillips, Branson Bridges, Luxton Rivers and church family.

Colt Eugene Morris
Mr. Colt Eugene Morris, age 40, passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2023, in Marion County, Ala. He was born in Mobile, Ala. and has resided most of his life in Perdido, Ala. He was a very skilled iron worker for many years. He enjoyed going fishing and hunting; raising and tending to his chickens and going to the beach. He also enjoyed watching movies and car races, but his biggest obsession was Alabama Football “ROLL TIDE.”
He was preceded in death by Michelle Morris; his grandparents, MC (Hattie Lou “Gator”) Morris, Buddy Eady and Juanita “Granny” Edmondson; step-father, Kyle Burns; sister, Abranda “Brandy” Shane Morris; uncle Hamp and aunt, Lane.
Mr. Morris is survived by his father, Mack (Pamela) Morris of Cantonment, Fla.; mother, Tammy Eady Burns of Perdido; two sons, Colton Morris of Bay Minette, Ala.; Hamp Morris of Atmore, Ala.; two daughters, Mia Morris of Uriah, Ala.; Abranda Morris of Bay Minette, other relatives and friends.

John Michael Manasco
Mr. John Michael Manasco, age 81, of Birmingham, Ala., passed away Saturday, August 5, 2023. He grew up in Brewton, Ala. and was a T.R. Miller High School graduate. He was a handsome football star hard-earned nickname “Moose.” He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and a veteran of the Vietnam War. He earned bachelors and master’s degrees from the University of Alabama. He was a member of Saint Luke’s Episcopal Church in Birmingham.
On entering law practice, he was appointed by the Governor of Alabama as a member of the Alabama State Board of Human Resources. He had a thirty-year career in service to families and children.
He regularly presented continuing legal education seminars for the University of Alabama, and his advice was often sought by fellow lawyers. He became Montgomery’s first Fellow of the peer-elected American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, served as President of the Family Law Section of the Alabama State Bar, and was appointed to the committee that prepared the original set of Child Support Guidelines for Alabama. On closing his private law practice, he was appointed General Counsel to the State Treasurer of Alabama.
He coached youth baseball, was an assistant scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America, was President of the General Richard Montgomery Chapter of Sons of the American Revolution, was a lifetime member of the Marine Corps League, and was a member of the Society of the Descendants of Washington’s Army at Valley Forge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Vernon Manasco and Kathleen O’Bannon Manasco; his sister, Margaret Manasco Montgomery.
Mr. Manasco is survived by his devoted wife of nearly forty-eight years, Jennifer Prestwood Manasco; their children, Anna M Manasco and John M Manasco, Jr. (Kristen); his children, Yvette M Greene (Mike) and Adam P Manasco (Stephanie); grandchildren, Beau, Isabelle and Edmund (“Teddy”) Dionne; John Michael III, Mason and Everette (“Rhett”) Manasco; and Tucker, Brenden and Calen Greene; and his sister Augusta Manasco Folmar (David).
The family will receive friends Saturday, August 12, 2023 from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m. at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Brewton, Ala. A private funeral and committal for the family will follow.

Mrs. Dorothy Mae Bullard Lee, age 93, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Thursday, July 27, 2023. She was born in Atmore to Sylvester and Elizabeth Bullard.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis C. Lee; her parents; one brother, Charles Bullard; her two sons, Robert Lee and John Lee; one sister, Ella D. Lee.
Mrs. Lee is survived by four daughters, Mary Ford of Clearwater, Fla., Loretta (Michael) Gray of Arlington, Texas, Christine (Roy) Sanders and Juanita Lee, all of Atmore; four sons, Clarence (Tamika) of Wilmington, De., Louis (Betty) Lee of Hackensack, N.J., James (Jacqueline) Lee and Willie (Shannon) Lee, all of Atmore; two brothers, James Bullard and Sylvester (Erlene) Bullard of Cleveland, Ohio.; two sisters, Annie Odessa Lee Jones of Atmore and Bertha Walden of Clearwater; three sisters-in-law, Dorothy McMillians and Novella Johnson, both of Atmore and Voncile Lee of Clearwater; One God-son, Shelton Fry and one God-daughter, Patricia Reynolds; one special cousin, Lillie Washington; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; two special friends, Kay Zemike and Sharlet McMurphy.

Mr. Jatyrain “Tank” A. Tolbert, age 22, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2023. He was born in Atmore to Tamarra Tolbert and Terrance Gaston. He was a 2019 Escambia County High School graduate. He worked numerous traveling shutdown jobs.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rev. Charles Cunningham and Leola Cunningham.
