U.S. 31 South traffic was rerouted for about three hours last Friday, October 14, after a dump truck with a load of pea gravel and dirt overturned near B&G Storage, then two trailing dump trucks collided. The lead truck ran off the road and lost its load around 8:15 a.m., causing the second to stop suddenly, in turn causing the third to rear-end the second. Traffic was diverted around the site until 10:50 a.m. as Alabama State Troopers investigated the initial rollover and Atmore firefighters shoveled up the spilled load.
