Barring any last-minute, unforeseen complications, residents will begin within the next six weeks relocating into the 50-unit senior housing complex nearing completion just outside Atmore.
Crews from Reed Construction of Bay Minette, the project’s general contractor, and several subcontractors are in the final stages of construction for the $8.7 million development, known as Atmore Senior Village, and developers have begun accepting applications from prospective tenants.
“We are at 86 percent complete and will be complete in August,” Carrie Cornelison, Director of Development for Florence, Ala.-based CRN Development, said last week. “We are in pre-leasing now. Applicants can reach us at 251-973-6000 or Atmoresenior
@gatewaymgt.com to make appointments for applying. The anticipated date for ‘move-in’ is August 16.”
The affordable senior-adult community, for individuals ages 55 or older, is located just off McRae Street, a few yards outside Atmore’s city limits, near the 20-acre Old Towne subdivision.
The senior village project consists of 50 units, including 14 one-bedrooms and 36 two-bedrooms, and is not government subsidized, Cornelison said. It will feature numerous communal amenities that are not normally a part of such projects, such as a clubhouse, a community kitchen, an exercise room, a computer lab and an outdoor pavilion with grills.
Cornelison said developers and property managers will soon widen their promotion of the new community.
“We will have brochures shortly and will disburse them to the senior (SAIL) center, chamber and other local hot spots.,” she said. “We are excited to be in Atmore and look forward to opening in late August.”
Atmore Senior Village is the 14th residential community developed by CRN, its 10th in Alabama. That total also includes three in Georgia and one in North Carolina.
