An Atmore man remained behind bars as midweek approached, charged with breaking into several vehicles during the latter part of July and the early part of August.
Atmore Police Chief Chuck Brooks said in a press release issued Monday afternoon, August 10, that 22-year-old Rodarius Tyrig Dailey was taken into custody August 4 in connection with vehicle burglaries that were reported at numerous locations across the city on July 24, July 25 and August 4.
“We’ve linked him to several car burglaries,” said Brooks. “Our investigators have been working this since the calls started coming in from people whose vehicles had been burglarized and personal items stolen on those dates.”
Dailey is accused of stealing an array of items that ranged from cash and jewelry to guns. APD detectives are still trying to track down the items reported as missing from the illegally entered vehicles.
“Our investigators are still working to locate the stolen property,” the police chief said.
According to Escambia County Detention Center records, Dailey is being held on total bonds of $25,000 for five counts of unlawful breaking and entering a vehicle, six counts of third-degree theft of property and five counts of fourth-degree theft of property.
