Police warn of vehicle break-ins

Atmore Police Chief Chuck Brooks announced this week that his department has over the past two weeks received “numerous complaints” of suspects breaking and entering automobiles throughout the city.
Brooks said burglary reports have been taken from Old Bratt Road, Woodlawn Avenue, Forrest Hill Drive, South Carney Street, Whippoorwill Drive, Tatum Avenue, Smith Diary Road and Woods Road.
Individuals are “rummaging through unlocked vehicles during the early morning hours and stealing firearms, cash, and other personal items,” the police chief said, noting that other victims have found their car doors opened but no property removed.
Anyone with security footage of these suspects to call 251-368-9141.
