Lexie Hollinger was named as an Escambia Academy University of Alabama Capstone Leadership Academy nominee. Having a student tapped for this honor is a first in EA history. She was chosen by her teachers due to her leadership abilities and interest in volunteer service.
She was asked to submit an application and essay to the University of Alabama selection committee last fall in hopes of being selected to attend this impressive leadership academy. Only 125 outstanding high school sophomores from across Alabama were selected to attend the 2017 Academy.
Lexie was selected to attend the Academy this March in Tuscaloosa. Along with continuing her education and expanding her leadership skills, Lexie was part of a service project for the United States military.
Lexie is the daughter of Jarrell and Angel Hollinger.
